So proud of Marissa Amanda for this amazing accomplishment! Certification and fidelity matter!
Join us this in celebrating Marissa Kile, MSW, LSCSW, LCSW, DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician!
Marissa is the owner, clinician, and a supervisor at DBT of KC, who provides individual DBT therapy and leads DBT skills groups. She also has been trained in DBT-Prolonged Exposure, providing treatment for trauma and/or traumatic invalidation.
When asked why she pursued certification, Marissa stated, “I believe certification is essential to ensure that clinicians are consistently adhering to the DBT model and providing the highest quality care. For clinicians, DBT is not just a theoretical framework but a ‘lived experience’ that we must embody in our own lives. It’s not enough to simply understand the principles of DBT; we must also demonstrate how to apply these skills in a way that authentically integrates into our day-to-day practice, allowing us to model and teach clients how to do the same.” Certification has also strengthened Marissa’s ability to understand and implement behavior chain analyses in a dynamic way.
Marissa’s favorite skill is DEAR MAN, as this is a skill to communicate wants and needs, as well as boundaries, which she described as an important component to reduce burn out. She describes “embracing the concept of JOMO—the joy of missing out—has allowed me to prioritize meaningful activities and maintain balance.”
Congratulations on Certification, Marissa Kile, MSW, LSCSW, LCSW!
