Death work will always be around. Living, however, is finite and the Universe took me in a completely different direction as soon as I was ready to begin walking the path of an End-Of-Life Doula.
I was catapulted into the work of assisting those who are unhoused get back on their feet and find the resources they need to survive and thrive. Its challenging work and one that I have thrown my whole heart and body into. In a way I am still a death worker, making sure those who are discarded and invisible on the streets have a chance at a better life so they may die with dignity. We all deserve that. We all deserve a good life and a good death.
I’m popping on here to let you know I still exist. I’m still thinking about death all the time. And I do plan to host a Death Discussions soon so stay tuned my deathlings!

What a beautiful and heartfelt Death Discussions today!

I was thinking about the ‘Why?’ Of Death Discussions and my intention for holding open discussions around all things death. The reason is, we don’t talk about death enough. We have been conditioned to be far removed from the death process. We’re not faced with death until crisis. My goal is to create an open space where we can all come together and talk about death before the next crisis or loss in our life occurs.

My favorite questions that was asked during the discussion: ‘How do you want people to show up for you when you are in grief?’

Happy Full Moon in Leo, deathlings! Today was the perfect day to be a part of this inaugural prairie burning at Heart Land Prairie Cemetery I got to share the day watching Sarah and her crew of junior undertakers from The Land Institute control burn the cemetery for new native growth! It was wild, at moments intense, and absolutely glorious!!
This was such a beautiful moment of the death, destruction, re-birth cycle in action!

Hello Deathlings!
Its time for another Death Discussion!

Sunday February 19 at 1pm!

This is an informal gathering for both Death Care Workers and the Death Curious to come together and learn from one another! This is where we can share our thoughts and information, ask questions, and get to know other likeminded students of death! Nothing is off the table with these discussions!
This will be hosted in my home! All are welcome!

Hello deathlings! Death is scary! But I would like to take the edge off the fear by opening this space up for light hearted and silly discussion. Whats a weird and wacky way you want to die? How do you hope to meet your end?

Also, lol, forgot to correct the caption spelling of my name. Its Teri Quinn 😘

2 things that make me feel so proud! Im a certified and now full time Community Health Worker and a certified Death Doula. It says 8 hours of study but I’ve been studying the deathcare field for damn near 6 years. I’m ready to practice, baby! I can’t think of a better combo! 🥳🪦

Throwback to one of my favorite cemetery experiences.
Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah Georgia circa 2017.
I was a baby deathling then, dipping my toes in the deathcare journey. I was on tour with my music through the south and made it a point to visit cemeteries in each city I visited. The Bonaventure Cemetery was absolutely stunning. I caught my breath at this windchime and just sat in deep contemplation. I remember laying next to this grave listening to the windchime and watching the breeze caress the Spanish moss. I was enchanted.
Visiting cemeteries is a huge passion of mine. Each one tells a story. Do you have a favorite cemetery to visit? Do you remember visiting a particularly stunning cemetery on your travels?

On New Years Eve I visited my favorite cemetery to meditate and contemplate the past year and what seeds I want to plant for 2023. My word for this year is ‘Thrive’. We have one precious life. We deserve to thrive. Not just survive. We’ll all die eventually. Until then, lets thrive.

This is Mount Saint Marys Cemetery near 23rd and Jackson in KC. Its a stunning cemetery where the gravestones blend in with the KC skyline.

There is a little yellow church next to the cemetery that usually has congregants out on the sidewalk selling bouquets of flowers. Its a beautiful ritual of mine to visit this cemetery for some quiet time and buy myself some flowers. 🪦💐

Welcome deathlings!

I want to share this throwback photo from a few summers ago. I visited the Heartland Prairie Cemetery in Salina, Kansas. This is the only natural burial cemetery in Kansas that doubles as a Prairie Preserve. I met the founder of the cemetery, Sarah Crews, and I became an instant follower of her work as a cemetery steward and home funeral advocate.

My goal in this work is to follow in her footsteps and start a community led natural burial here on the Missouri side as well as continue death advocacy bringing community care back into death care.

Midnight Meadow felt like the perfect name for my practice. Midnight being the hour of death and Meadow nodding to our prairie land. 🌾

I want to thank all of you for being on this journey with me. I hope we can walk together in this work to the end. ☠️
