5 simple changes I’m making in 2026

Lately I’ve been paying closer attention to what my body and spirit are asking for and these are a few quiet shifts I’m committing to.

1. Eating simpler foods. I don’t recover the same way I used to after heavy, energy-expensive meals, especially during busy workdays or travel. Simple feels supportive right now.

2. Scheduling joy on purpose. Hobbies, rest, and slower experiences matter. I traveled a lot in 2025, and those short 2–3 day trips can be exciting and exhausting. I’m learning to listen when my body wants more ease.

3. Taking exercise classes for my heart health. I still don’t love cardio 😅 but I’m realizing I show up better when someone else is guiding me.

4. Being more intentional with my evenings. I’m learning to end my days with the same care I give to how I start them.

5. Not forcing relationships. Some connections give energy, others quietly take it. I’m choosing to honor the difference.

Nothing dramatic. Just small, honest changes that feel more sustainable for who I am now 🤎

✨ While many people are prepping to create vision boards, don’t forget to include the behavior changes and mindset shifts that shape your everyday life.

Every argument is not an invitation to engage, and every meal doesn’t need to be Instagram worthy. Our bodies have been through a lot since 2020, and sometimes the most healing thing we can do is slow down, simplify, and choose rest, nourishment, and peace over constant performance.

I believe so much of the exhaustion many of us feel comes from forgetting how small, day-to-day habits quietly stack up, either supporting our well-being or slowly draining it. Gentle choices, made consistently, create the foundation for sustainable energy, clarity, and ease 🤎

✨What behavior change are you adopting in 2026?

Who else is a busy body?

Learning how to do nothing has always been a challenge for me. If you are a child of immigrant parents we grew up feeling like we had to earn our rest and sitting still = uselessness 😅

For the next 4 days I’m giving myself permission to do nothing (outside of things that give me joy). 😌

Beautiful day for a hike 😎🏜️
2.5 miles and 1200 ft in elevation.

Lesson learned: I need to do more aerobic training because the way I was breathing on this hike 😅

Good news: zero knee pain and today was a sign I can push myself harder physically 💪🏾

✨I’m not against AI, and use it often…but I believe we should pause before blindly implementing more of it into our lives for the sake of optimization.

✨ What are things you still do manually that people are turning to AI for?

✨ Poets and writers are such precious gifts to the world.
They leave us with permanent words and ideas that forever shape generations even after they’re gone.

Nikki Giovanni was such a powerful force and I’m thankful to have experienced her before her passing.

I’m sharing some of my favorite quotes from her.
I hope some of these resonate with you 🤎
