Living with an autoimmune/health condition isn't always about big setbacks.

Often, it's the small habits—pushing through exhaustion, eating junk food, skipping meals, ignoring flares—that quietly drain you.

Those patterns come from being strong.
But your body isn't meant to run on empty.

Rest, boundaries, and slowing down aren't selfish.

They're how your body feels safer, your mind gets quieter, and life starts to feel steadier.

Try this simple-to-do, anytime-anywhere intentional breathing practice:

~ Inhale ~ Exhale ~ Repeat ~

Close your eyes and begin breathing at your regular pace.

After a few breaths, take slower, deeper breaths - let go, calm your mind, and soften your body on each exhale.

Do this deep breathing until you feel a release or a sense of calm.

Do as often as needed throughout the day.

Let’s invite a quieter kind of reset as we begin the new year.

For those living with autoimmune conditions, there’s no need to push or strive for big goals.

This season is about creating greater ease and safety for the body and mind we’re already caring for.

Our nervous system is always listening—to stress, yes, but also to our physical environment.

Clutter, unfinished tasks, stagnant energy, and chemical-heavy products can subtly tax an already sensitive system.

What we breathe, touch, and see each day either supports regulation or adds to the load.

As we move into each new day, I invite small, intentional shifts in your space to support your well-being.

One gentle way to begin is by clearing your space and aura through smudging.

Your space doesn’t need to be perfect—only supportive.

Start with one small area at a time, and allow the reset to unfold gradually.

A calmer environment supports nervous system regulation, immune health, and a new year guided by self-care, not pressure.

Garbage in, garbage out. I saw this phrase the other day, and it makes sense. Eating better foods/drinks for your body when you live with any autoimmune condition doesn't have to be hard. Look at these healthy, whole food choices! 💜 What healthier foods do you enjoy?

Hum? Food for thought. 😂

Reading labels is so important when shopping for food.

Guidelines for choosing food ingredients
Adopt a "five-ingredient rule" for packaged foods:
This is a helpful guideline for identifying less-processed options, as products with more ingredients are often more processed.

Focus on recognizable ingredients:
For packaged foods, prioritize products where you can recognize and pronounce most of the ingredients, as a long list can indicate added colors, flavors, and preservatives.

Look for shorter ingredient lists in simple products:
Things like nuts, seeds, or single-ingredient snacks are healthy choices. A product like a bag of trail mix with several different nuts and seeds is fine, even if it has more than five ingredients, because all the ingredients are whole foods.

Understand the context of the ingredient list:
A long list is not always a bad thing. A dish like an Indonesian or Indian curry may require many spices to achieve its flavor profile, and a good steak may only need salt and pepper. The number of ingredients depends on the desired flavor profile.

Pay attention to order:
Ingredients are listed in descending order of their proportion in the food product. If sugar is the first ingredient, for example, that indicates a high amount of sugar.

Choosing better foods for your body/mind is simple but not always easy. So, be patient with yourself and begin with one food at a time. You've got this! 💜
