Mind The Bend I would be honored to help you on your wellness journey! Movement has been an integral part of my life’s journey since I started studying dance at the age of 3.

I began to immerse myself in yoga, meditation, and pranayama studies, which opened the door to a deeper sense of knowing and connection—both within myself and with others. At the urging of my teach

er Tammy, I embarked on my initial Teacher Trainings in 2007, and began teaching publicly in 2008. My teaching has bloomed through many incarnations over the years, and I am beyond honored to share my knowledge as a yoga educator through group and private yoga + movement classes, and yoga teacher mentorships. Along the way, due to injury and illness, I became curious about the healing powers that we hold within our bodies…and the ways in which we (ourselves) and others can facilitate that healing—physically and energetically. I began studying energy healing—Reiki, Biofield Therapy, Luminous Energy Healing, and Pranic Healing. I sat with these modalities for several years each—in child-like wonder, and in order to integrate them so that I could fully embody them. It is my hope to share with you these ways to empower you to heal yourself. YOU are your greatest healer. Music…oh my love, music! I cannot imagine a life without music. I began studying music in early childhood and even made a career out of it—as an orchestral musician and professor. The moment I played my first set of crystal singing bowls, I knew that sharing sound healing (in this way) was part of my life’s path—to facilitate and educate others on the healing power of frequency and vibration. As a result of the persistence of my teacher Mary (and my dear friends Sarah and Erika), I have begun to use my voice as an instrument to encourage peace and healing. Over the past 9 years, my sound healing practice has transformed my life to be lighter, more integrated, and more deeply grounded. I am extremely grateful to have been blessed with amazing teachers and mentors on my journey thus far, several with whom I continue to study. Many of my biggest teachers are my students, and to you all I am eternally grateful. Currently, I am registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT-500, YACEP. I hold multiple 200 hour certifications in different styles, because I believe the study of yoga to be a lifelong endeavor. I am a Lead Yoga Teacher Trainer, a Certified Vibrational Sound Healer, Reiki Master, Pranayama Facilitator, Crystal Reiki Master, EFT AND TFT Practitioner, Biofield Energy Therapist, Somatic Movement Practitioner, Pure Barre Certified, Mat Pilates Certified, and am completing certifications in Kundalini Yoga and Ayurveda. Yoga is back! I would be honored for you to join me Sunday for a fun Slow Flow in our 9:00 Soulful Sunday, and/or a calming combination of stretching, movement, and subtle strengthening in Gentle Yoga at 10:30.

Yoga is for everybody, every body. These classes are for All Levels (though a little experience helps for the 9:00 AM session, it’s not required). All ages, all experience levels, all shapes, all sizes, all confidence levels, all flexibility levels…ALL.

Nearly 3 years in the making, I’m honored to announce I am teaching Yoga at Connolly Dance Arts! I would love for you to join me Sunday mornings in our spacious studio space. Both offerings are suitable for All Experience Levels.

Soulful Sunday: Find your inner smile (and a laugh or two) as you connect to your inner-strength in this moderately paced flow. Soulful Sunday is an intricate mixture of yoga asana (poses), movement, breathwork, and yoga philosophy in motion.

Gentle: Honor your body, mind, and spirit in this slower-paced class of “feel good” mindful movement. This offering is designed to nurture your nervous system while lengthening and strengthening your physical body. It’s an invitation to remember your natural state of inner peace.

This is an invitation to try this subtle yet powerful mindful listening practice. Connect to nature through active listening…anchor yourself into the present moment, and gift yourself space to acknowledge and process how you’re really feeling in your body and in your mind. If you don’t have access to nature, you can listen to nature sounds on your preferred streaming platform, or you can work with the sounds in your favorite comfortable space.

Words of truth from the great Maya Angelou. Oh to be as wise as she…
Defeat in life is inevitable. Feeling those feelings of defeat may also be inevitable, that part is up to us. But how we breathe and move those feelings through and out is on us. We can elect to sit in these feelings and fester, or we can open the door for release and new experiences. 2024 has been very challenging for me and for many. Being blindsided with loss is never easy, both individually and collectively.

Eternally thankful for the people who listen and stay.

Sound healing/sound therapy is profound and powerful. Gift your body and mind space and time to process.

Connect: Connect to your thoughts and emotions, giving yourself permission to process anything that may have surfaced during the experience. Journaling, brain dumping, and voice recording are all good ways to connect and process.

Hydrate: A sound bath encourages shifts in both your physical and energetic bodies. Drink more water than normal to help your body efficiently process the session.

Relax: Rest, relax, take a salt or essential oil bath. Give yourself time to continue the practice, even after you’ve left the healing space.

You are your greatest healer.

Pause…place your hands over your heart. In this space, you will find what you need. Conditioning teaches us to search for answers and affirmation outside of ourselves. This disempowers us, which ultimately keeps us tied to patterns of attachment. Attachment to others, to a feeling they can provide, to seeking validation and love.

Our power and our surrender lies in trusting our own sacred wisdom. So trust, trust the communication of your intuition…lean into you. This is where the healing begins and ends.

In this moment, my mantra: I acknowledge my worries and surrender to peace in the present moment.

Moment by moment living is where we are called to “be”. (It’s where we are…) We often act as visitors to the present moment, keeping one foot in the past or one foot in the future—allowing the mind to serve as a reservoir for the what could have beens and the what ifs. But the only things that “are” happen in the now.
