Tonight Kearney Police Department joined Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, CHI Health Good Samaritan Emergency Medical Services, Nebraska State Patrol, Nebraska Army National Guard, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and other area First Responders for the 2nd Annual Shop with a First Responder night sponsored by Kearney’s First Responders Network. In a truly heartwarming display of community spirit, they raised $6,000 locally to support this night and we extend our deepest gratitude to them and all the sponsors who selflessly gave to make the Christmas dreams of over 70 children come true!🎄🚓🚒🚑 🎄

Today we celebrated the 40+ career of Dr. Dennis Edwards. Dr. Edwards has served many roles throughout his time with Good Samaritan hospital including pediatrician, anesthesiologist, and V.P. Of Medical Affairs. Dr. Edwards was on the very first patient flight for AirCare and got to go for a flight on his last day. Thank you Dr. Edwards!

Safe Kids Platte Valley celebrates 20 years of injury prevention with a Free Event at Kearney Children’s Museum

Safe Kids Platte Valley, established by CHI Health Good Samaritan, is celebrating 20 years of preventing childhood injuries with a fun family event. The community is invited to Family Safety Night at the Kearney Area Children’s Museum from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16.

The event will celebrate kids, help families learn more about injury prevention and honor 20 years of injury prevention efforts. In addition to the museum’s permanent attractions, children can explore interactive exhibits teaching families how to stay safe on the road, in the home and at play. Admission to the museum is free. The first 100 participants will receive a free hot dog meal complete with chips, water and granola bar.
