💪 Did you know…
Without consistent mobility and strength work, the average adult loses 3–5% of muscle strength and flexibility every year.

That might not sound like much but over time, it adds up to weaker joints, tighter muscles, more stiffness, and a higher risk of injury or pain with everyday movement.

Here’s why it happens:
🧠 Your body adapts to what you do most. If you sit often and move less, your muscles shorten and your nervous system stops “activating” certain ranges of motion.
💪 Strength naturally declines with age — unless you train it.
🦵 Flexibility and stability go hand in hand — lose one, and the other follows.

✨ The good news? You can reverse it.
Consistent stretching, mobility training, and functional strength work help you keep your body strong, balanced, and pain-free for the long haul.

👉 Don’t wait until you feel stiff or sore to start moving better.

Three years ago, we took a leap of faith. We started Stretchd Out Buffalo with a dream, a handful of tools, and a lot of hope. We had no idea just how much this journey would test us, shape us, and ultimately change us in these last 3 years.

Owning and growing a business is not glamorous. There’s been blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of cuss words along the way. There are days we question ourselves, moments where giving up seems a heck of a lot easier, and challenges that sometimes feel impossible to overcome. But through it all, we continue to keep going because we believe in this dream, and because we believe in the people we serve.

The past three years have been the most rewarding process we’ve ever experienced. Every client who has trusted us with their movement, recovery, and wellness has taught us something. Every session, every small victory, and even the tough moments have reminded us why we started this journey.

Stretchd Out Buffalo has not just been a business, it’s been a teacher, a community, and a home. We’ve learned lessons we couldn’t have learned anywhere else: how to be patient, how to persevere, how to lead with compassion, and how to find joy even in the hard work.

To our clients, supporters, staff, and everyone who has believed and continues to believe in this dream, thank you oh soooo much! You make all the blood, sweat, and tears worth it, and you’ve shown us that building something meaningful isn’t about the easy days; it’s about the people, the growth, and the impact we’re making on others along the way. We promise to always make Stretchd Out Buffalo one of the best places you’ve been to in Buffalo!

Here’s to 3 years and the continued journey ahead!!❤️🍾

Indigenous Peoples’ Day isn’t just a date on the calendar, it’s a reminder of where I (Jocelyn) come from, and what I carry forward.

Owning Stretchd Out Buffalo is more than running a business; it’s continuing a legacy of resilience, balance, and healing that’s been in our communities for generations.

Movement is medicine and that truth runs deep in our roots. (Literally)

Happy Indigenous People’s Day my friends ❤️🪶

Most people think mobility and flexibility mean the same thing but they’re actually two different (and equally important) parts of how your body moves! 🧠💪

✨ Flexibility is your muscles’ ability to lengthen and allow movement.
✨ Mobility is your ability to control that movement through strength and stability.

You can be flexible without being mobile, or mobile without being flexible, but to truly move, perform, and feel your best, you need both working together!

When you’re both flexible and mobile:
✅ You move more efficiently
✅ You reduce your risk of injury
✅ You improve posture and performance
✅ You feel less stiffness and more freedom in your body

So how do you work on both?
➡️ Combine passive and active stretching
➡️ Strengthen through your full range of motion
➡️ Stay consistent
➡️ And work with a professional to safely guide your progress

That’s exactly what we do at Stretchd Out Buffalo, help you improve both flexibility and mobility so you can move better, feel better, and live pain-free. 💚

🌟 Why Hip Mobility Matters 🌟

Tight hips don’t just limit your flexibility, they can also put extra stress on your lower back. When your hips are stiff, your body has to “borrow” movement from other areas, often forcing the lower back to overwork and compensate. Over time, this can lead to discomfort, tension, or even injury.

Improving hip mobility helps:
✅ Reduce strain on the low back
✅ Improve posture and alignment
✅ Enhance movement efficiency in daily life and workouts
✅ Increase circulation and release tension in surrounding muscles

Strong and mobile hips create a stable foundation for your spine, making activities like walking, lifting, and sitting for long periods much easier on your body.

That’s why incorporating hip openers into your routine isn’t just about flexibility, it’s about protecting your back and moving better every day. 🙌

💙 October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month 💙

Here at Stretchd Out Buffalo, this month is close to our hearts. Our owner, Jocelyn, lives with dysautonomia every single day and knows firsthand the struggles it brings. Dysautonomia is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system (the part of your body that controls things like heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, and temperature regulation.) Dysautonomia is the umbrella term for a variety of different diagnoses. (Which you can see when you swipe right) When this system doesn’t function properly, it can cause life-altering symptoms that aren’t always visible from the outside.

Far too often, people experiencing dysautonomia symptoms are told it’s “just anxiety.” While anxiety can sometimes overlap, it should never be the blanket explanation. If you’re experiencing unusual symptoms including but not limited to dizziness, fainting, rapid heart rate, digestive issues, or extreme fatigue don’t let them be written off. Advocate for yourself, trust your body, and push for answers!

This month, we stand with everyone living with dysautonomia and work to spread awareness and remind our community that they are not alone. 💙

We especially wanted to share this information because dysautonomia (POTS especially) has been especially increasing post COVID especially in younger women. If you feel like your body is off, you’re probably right and it’s probably best to consult with your physician!
