On April 9, Kendal at Longwood residents held their 11th annual Seder. With humble beginnings of 35 people at the first Seder, it has grown to over 75 attendees this year. The residents held a short Seder, saying traditional prayers before the meal, and the Passover story was read. Then, each resident read a part of the story. They sang a few traditional songs and enjoyed a sumptuous Passover meal prepared by the Culinary staff. The menu included Chicken Soup with Matzoh Balls, Chopped Liver, Brisket, Chicken, and a Vegetarian Matzoh Lasagna, and of course, homemade macaroons for dessert. There was a beautiful sense of community throughout the event, with several new residents who attended and a number of people who had never been to a Seder. Moments like these remind us that community isn't just about living together, it is about looking out for one another, celebrating small victories, and finding connection in everyday miracles.
