We care about your bone density at all ages, because here’s the thing.. your bone density is kind of like your bodies foundation.

Lean mass is the top indicator for living a long, healthy, mobile life.

In general, the more lean mass you have the better. Lean mass helps keep us mobile and keeps us strong. It also increases our metabolism, which means it makes it easier to burn body fat.

Lean mass also serves as a sort of safety net in the event of a serious illness or accident. If you become bedridden for an extended period of time for whatever reason, having lean mass will keep your body from becoming frail and weak!

One of the most important data points we get from the Dexascan is something called Visceral Fat.

This is the fat that is on our internal organs, which is different from the body fat we see on our belly, arms and legs.

While we typically want to reduce excess amounts of body fat, the body fat we see isn’t actually very dangerous for us.

Visceral Fat is the dangerous fat, and the more of it we have, the more likely we are to have serious complications.

One of the most common goals we come across is burning unwanted body fat.

While it’s true that you can’t “spot target” any particular area, it is possible to make your efforts more effective by understanding how your body utilizes energy at different heart rates.

There is an optimal range where we utilize primarily body fat as fuel, and the V02 max test can show us exactly where that range is.

That’s not to say we shouldn’t ever workout above or below that range, because there definitely are still benefits to both.

Why do some people age gracefully, while others don’t?

Why do some people struggle with their weight, even if they are working out consistently and eating the right foods?

Why do some people seem to have no issues at all?

After almost two decades in the health and fitness space, I’ve realized that the most common differentiator is a set of basic, daily habits that I call the Foundations.

Some people naturally have these dialed in - that’s why health seems so easy for them.

Some people have had to work hard at them - that’s why they’ve been able to find success.

And some people don’t even realize how important they are - that’s why they continue to struggle.
