Your voices are powerful (especially yours!) and they deserve some TLC. That’s why we’re bringing back our Teacher Vocal Hygiene Challenge!

Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Like our page + share this post.).
2️⃣ Snap a photo of yourself doing something good for your voice. If you're not sure of what to do, check out our video from yesterday or our Vocal Hygiene Handout (in the comments

Now that the first weeks of school are under our belts, it's time to focus some attention on what really matters - TEACHER VOCAL HYGIENE! Teachers are more likely than *any* other profession (including singers!) to develop a voice disorder. This can range anywhere from a single case of laryngitis to recurring vocal nodules.

To help our teachers keep their voices healthy, DLST is bringing back our Teacher Vocal Hygiene Picture Contest! Stay tuned throughout the week to learn more! 🥰

We are about a week away from the best party of the year!

We are so excited to partner with our friends at Stomping Grounds Play Café to bring you this event! It’s not your average Saturday morning. You know, think lights, bubbles, music, and high-energy fun designed just for kids (and their grownups too!).

Tickets include 2 hours of dancing and fun, pizza, a drink, and a grab bag for the kids (and their grown ups). Plus, we have great vendors!

This 6-week play group for ages 2–6 makes language fun and inclusive. Each week centers around core themed vocabulary to support expressive language using verbal speech, ASL, AAC, and other multimodal forms of communication.

It’s all about creating a space where every child can connect, express, and be celebrated!

This Labor Day, we’re reflecting on the value of rest.

Labor Day was created to honor the contributions of workers, but somewhere along the way, the message got tangled up in sales and slogans.

At Duncan Lake Speech Therapy, we believe rest is productive. Rest sustains the caregivers, the educators, the helpers, the healers, and everyone in between...including members of this staff!

So today, we’re honoring the labor by honoring the pause. Rest is not a reward. It’s a right! Take care of yourself today by doing whatever rest looks like for you. We’ll be doing the same.
