In times like this, what stands out most is the strength of our community—neighbors showing up for each other, small acts of care that carry real weight.

Hawaii locals and residents value all lives, especially our Kupunas, no matter the age. The systems and all our healthcare providers and doctors here in Maui should understand this and reflect this value. We hug and squeeze every second and minute we can with them.

A Personal Update

Caring for people is one of the greatest privileges of my life. Recently, I’ve realized the importance of stepping back to rest, be with family, and return to a more sustainable way of caring for others.

I’ll be taking a voluntary leave from hospital work from Maui Memorial Medical Center and focusing on my private practice, where I can serve patients more intentionally, one-on-one.

Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that different perspectives exist in medicine—what can feel like a challenge to some can also be part of growth, progress, and strengthening care for the community.

This is my commitment.

I believe that thoughtful questions, honest conversations, and even some friction are often how we move forward and improve.

For now, my focus is on continuing to care for patients with clarity, presence, and balance.
