How’s your hair care routine?

Everyday so many people are putting multiple chemicals on their head including:
Hair dye
Hair spray
Gel
Shampoo
Conditioner
&more!

Wonder why you get a headache after getting your hair dyed? Or why your hair is brittle? There are better non toxic options!

For hair care we love Monat products! They have a wide spread variety and they even have hair growth productsπŸ™Œ.
Other brands we like include:
Modern Roots
Acure
Mother Dirt
Natulique

Using the EWG is a great tool when shopping. You can scan bar codes and it will tell you how toxic a product is. One step at a time, one product at a time. Start switching out your products for better options!

With having a young infant, I have leaned a lot on holistic tools/natural medicine to help her!
These are some of my favorite things so far I have seen great benefits from!:

1. Red light therapy- over a period of weeks it helped her get her circadian rhythm set better. She actually enjoyed it!
2. Honeopathics- I used various homepathics for teething, gas, and colic and noticed they were helpful!
3. Epsom salt- great to help relax baby before bed and if they are not feeling good. She LOVES baths!
4. Infant DHA - wonderful for brain development. We give it orally and not mixed with her bottle!
5. Homemade formula- since donor milk did not sit well with our daughter, we searched for the best formula we could without all the junk. We settled with goat milk formula and she loves it. There are many different types out there- do your research and read ingredient labels!
6. Water wipes- skips a lot of the icky ingredients in wipes today that can cause irratation and rashes!
7. Calendula infused oil or coconut oil. I found these have been wonderful for not just making the skin moisturizer but also heal faster!
8. Cotton or bamboo sleepers- I love that they can keep them cool or warm when needed !
9. Saline Nose drops- great for stuck boogies! Cleanses the sinuses and is easier to get snot and boogies out with the frida nose sucker!
10. Lavender essential oil- 1-2drops rubbed on your hands and then applied to their sleeper or sleep sack. You can also diffuse at night to help with sleep!

These are just some of things we have found helpful for holistic baby care! What do you find helpful?

Pollinators: Bees, birds, butterflies, moths, flies, and more!

We would not have food if we didn't have pollinators. It's our job to protect them and develop an environment they can thrive in!

Many reports – including those from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) quote the figure that β€œ75% of our crops” rely on pollinators. It’s true: around three-quarters (75%) of the different crops we grow for food depend on pollinators to some extent. This is based on the number of different crops.

If you like to garden or grow anything at home, having pollinators is key. You can have a bee box in your garden, plant flowers or plants that are beneficial for them , and skip the pesticides and herbacides!

Plant what grows best in your zone. Find annuals and perennials that will create an alluring mix for the pollinators to come!

*Lavender Essential Oil*

One of my favorites!!
There are so many uses for this medical plant and oil!
Some of my favorite uses are:

*Sleep -take a couple drops and rub on the back of your neck, feet, and spine. You can make a little sleep spritzer and put a light mist on your pillow too.
*Baby sleep- diffuse or put 1-2 drops on your hands and rub on their sleeper or sleep sack. It will help them relax!
*Skin healing- add to your cream, salve, or lotion you like to use for extra healing properties and it smells good too!
*Perfume- simply add a couple drops and rub on neck, chest, and wrists for a beautiful Non-Toxic perfume!
*Wound healing- anytime I get a cut or scrape I put one drop of this oil on the area before I bandage. It doesn't sting and goes to action right away. Also great for any kind of burn!
*Eye lash growth- you can simply add a few drops to your tube of mascara (perferrable Non-Toxic) to help with eye lash grow! Can also add to eye brows!
*Add lavender to lemonade or tea! This makes for a great relaxing drink, especially when added with chamomile. Make sure to get organic lavender flowers!
* Pollinator attractant- planting a lavender bush helps bring pollinators to your garden and smells amazing!
*Laundry/cleaning- lavender essential oil can be added to dryer balls, dish, laundry detergent, or cleaning solutions! It's antibacterial!

There are so many more uses, but you can see why this is a must for your medicine cabinet! πŸ™ŒπŸ’œ.
Make sure when buying the oil, you buy a high quality one (typically not from a store unless it is the brand pranoram).
Young living, doTERRA, plant therypy, and a few others are great ones to try!

Tick season is upon us!
How do you protect yourself from tick bites?

If you plan on being outside:
*Wear long pants
*Use bug spray (can make your own that is non-toxic and safe to use)
*Give your body immune support through the whole year
*Detox regularly
*Have specific homeopathic, herbs, and supplements that can help if you find a tick attached!
*Remove ticks correctly (make sure their head is removed as well)
*Use a poltice if you cannot get the tick head out
*Use essential oils and salve on the area of the tick bite after removal.
*Tuck your socks over your pant legs
*Fun trick -put duck tape (sticky side out) around your ankles. They will crawl up and get stuck!
*Watch for signs and symptoms of lymes!

Not everyone will develop lymes from tick bites but we can try our best to build up our bodies and protect as much as we can to prevent it πŸ™Œ.

Our Story

As a new wife and homesteader, I began my journey of bettering my health for my husband and I. I was determined to find natural solutions that worked and didn't have the harmful chemicals attached. Being a creative person, I experimented making a lot of my own products. Some worked and some didn't. Trial and error. I did however stick to what worked and was determined to find what else I could make. I became a natural skincare formulator and really was able to understand the science behind making products. I wanted there to be options for people looking for items safe to use for themselves and their families. That is what inspired my website and now this Etsy store! My husband and I started a small hobby farm when we first got married and we now work with other farms to outsource the best ingredients!. We came to find the many benefits of goat milk and having it in skin care. So I researched and researched some more and now have came up with some of the best combinations and products that I love to use and offer to others! At the same time, I wanted to also be able to help others in need as I was making these products.

Eden Wellness was birthed from my searching of natural and whole products that were safe and toxin free. The way God designed them. I wanted to be able to reach my health potential. I saw that products I used everyday influenced that. Now, you might be wondering, why Eden Wellness?

Eden actually means to take pleasure in or delight. If you have ever read the story in the Bible of the beginning, Genesis is a book that explains how things were created and what Eden was like. It was set aside for his people. Perfect, healthy, and whole. This was significant to me as I looked at Psalm 37:4, "Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." I have a desire. A desire to be healthy and whole. In the very beginning God made the land for good. Eden was a perfect, peaceful, and fruitful place. That is where my inspiration came from. I wanted to create an idea, something that would inspire many people. Health is such a big part of our lives. God actually wants us to take delight in what he has created and enjoy them. Eden was a place like that, no pain, no sorrow, no health problems. My desire is to help others and have them see that becoming healthy and whole is possible.

When everything is in it's pure form and can work together, that's our Eden Wellness products! Our Mission is to help people find safe and natural products while also giving back to help people around the world! We give 10% of our sales to missions- helping feed hungry people around the world, local support, and giving to Give-A-Goat which helps provide for families in need in Uganda so they can have food for their families (specifically goat milk).
