Happy New Year! This last week’s rare rainbows in the late-December alpine remind me of distant tropical islands, transporting my senses to far-away places within the bliss of the present moment.
Chilled by the winter rain and wind, utterly alive in a borrowed piece of time, I stopped along the road to take this photo, pausing from pursuit of obligations, to step into the beauty being offered from this particular point of view.
How we experience life depends so much upon where we place our focus.

This is the way…

Though the path may not be clear nor easy, though it may be uphill all the way, and the next steps may be uncertain, it is quite apparent, and there is no doubt that you will go on, and from experience, I would say that it will be a great relief when it becomes easier, but the treasure is in the difficult part.

Tahoe in the wind last night. I was glad to be wearing flannel-lined pants, a coat, hat, and scarf for the sunset hours. First free Friday-night summer concert, and the community is ready to celebrate.

Riding the gondola to the yoga festival with my Soul Sister last summer. August 13, 2023. Friendships are precious, and being there for each other through all the ups and downs of life is all part of the adventure.

Yum! Still plenty of snow around Tahoe… but springtime is arriving, and I love lilacs.

Lilac lemonade- yes! Lilacs are edible! And they taste just like how they smell, which is pretty rad if you're into floral flavors like jasmine, violet, and rose. All you have to do is submerge a few rinsed flower heads in the lemonade for at least a few hours, preferably overnight. Strain and serve! It's a really simple way to celebrate spring

When life gives you lemons….. make ginger, turmeric tea with fresh pink lemon juice and spun honey!
Mother Nature is so on it with her gifts of abundant citrus fruits at this time of year. Just when we are susceptible to the darkness and winter illnesses, here comes citrus with its bright, sunny colors and sweet and sour flavors for cheer and warmth, detoxing actions, and immune-boosting vitamin C!
And who recognizes this smile?!?
