📍 Mission Monday at ETSU

Today we showed up strong at East Tennessee State University reppin’ Using Athletics to Cope (UAC) — because the mission doesn’t stop at the gym or the field. 💪🏽

We’re out here building stronger futures together, showing students and community members how movement isn’t just about fitness — it’s about healing, discipline, and mental strength. 🧠🏃🏽‍♀️

Our team believes in empowering youth through movement, and we’re on a mission to make sure every young person knows they have what it takes to rise above their circumstances.

If you’re at ETSU, stop by and say hey 👋🏽 — grab some info, a smile, and learn how you can get involved with UAC.

🎃 TRUNK OR TREAT 2025 — DOWNTOWN KINGSPORT 👻
We showed up, showed out, and spread some love (and candy!) today at Downtown Kingsport’s Trunk or Treat! 🍬💚

Using Athletics to Cope was out here repping movement, mentorship, and mental health — because even on spooky days, we’re all about building stronger kids and stronger communities.

Big shoutout to every family who stopped by our trunk, laughed with us, and learned what UAC is all about. Your support means everything! 🙌🏽

🖤💚 Movement heals. Mentorship matters. Mental health wins.

Did you know?

“Youth without access to mentors are twice as likely to skip school and 46% more likely to begin using illegal substances.”
(Sycamore Institute, 2023)

That’s not just a statistic—it’s a warning.
At Using Athletics to Cope, we’re changing that story by pairing youth with mentors who lead through movement, mindset, and real connection.
Because when a young person has someone in their corner, skipping school turns into showing up, and risk turns into resilience. 💪🏽

💭 “You have the power to protect your peace.”

At Using Athletics to Cope (UAC), we remind our youth that peace isn’t found — it’s created.
Sometimes it’s a deep breath before the game.
Sometimes it’s a run to clear your head.
Sometimes it’s choosing to walk away from drama that doesn’t serve your growth.

Movement teaches discipline, and discipline builds peace.
When you know how to regulate your body, you learn how to protect your mind.

💪🏾 Protect your peace.
💬 Move with purpose.
💚

🧠 💪🏽 We’re not sitting in a white box talking about our feelings — we’re moving through them. At Using Athletics to Cope, healing happens on the court, the track, and in the game. Because sometimes the best therapy starts with motion.

🎗️ October is ADHD Awareness Month — and at Using Athletics to Cope, we’re breaking the stigma one practice, one workout, one kid at a time.

ADHD isn’t about being “lazy” or “unfocused.” It’s about a brain that runs on overdrive — and when that energy is guided, it becomes power. ⚡

That’s why movement matters.
Athletics gives youth with ADHD an outlet to release, regulate, and refocus. It’s not just about sports — it’s about self-control, confidence, and belonging.

🏀 When a kid learns to channel that energy into the court, the track, or the field — they’re learning life skills too.
💪 Discipline.
🧠 Focus.
❤️ Resilience.

This month, let’s shift the story from “what’s wrong” to “what’s strong.” You hear me?

✨ BIG NEWS ✨

We’re excited to share that Using Athletics to Cope (UAC) has been awarded a Walmart Spark Good grant! 🙌🏾💙

This support means more than dollars—it means more coping kits in kids’ hands, more sports gear on the field, and more youth knowing they are seen, valued, and supported.

A huge THANK YOU to for believing in our mission to use movement and mentorship as tools for resilience and healing. 🏀⚽🏃‍♀️

This is just the beginning. If Walmart can back us, so can you. Together, we can create a community where no child is left behind.

💙 Why we exist? Because too many kids are slipping through the cracks. Poverty, trauma, and lack of support shouldn’t define their futures.

At Using Athletics to Cope (UAC), we combine movement + mentorship to help youth build resilience, confidence, and healthy coping skills.

✨ Our Impact Goal: By Year 2, we’ll be serving 100+ youth and 200+ families across the Tri-Cities.

We can’t do it alone — your support makes this possible. 🏀💪
👉 Donate. Volunteer. Share our mission.

💙 When they see the back of this sweatshirt, I want them to know it’s more than words—it’s our purpose.

Empowering Youth Through Movement.
That’s not just a slogan. That’s what we’re doing every single day: giving kids tools, mentors, and moments that change their lives.

The court is just the start. The real game is building confidence, resilience, and hope. 🏀✨
