Josh Wasson Needs a Kidney

This week we received some long awaited news on Josh's condition and what caused his kidney failure. After a second blood test, as there was a bit of a snafu with the first one, we have found out that he has Atypical HUS. I attached a link, as we are still wrapping our heads around what it is. The Doctor in Albany is working on finding somewhere closer, as he will be needing infusions, which will eventually be every 8 weeks, but will start off being closer together, possibly every 2 weeks. Thankfully, it will not exclude him from being on the transplant list! The doctors will be having their round table meeting and then we'll see what follows! Prayers appreciated!

Sept. 24 is aHUS Awareness Day, an opportunity to shine a light on this serious kidney disease and the people who are living with it or caring for someone living with it.

Today Josh is in Albany for testing for one of his tests. Two more tests after this one! Prayers for safe travels!

Welcome to Josh's page! We would appreciate your support through his journey and would love whatever prayers and encouragement you can share. KIdney disease has quite a few ups and downs and it has been quite a journey for him. We also hope that others can gain encouragement from the page. He has been on dialysis for about 5 years, with a brief intermission where his kidneys were functioning high enough with out dialysis. Josh had an appointment in April and found out he needed 3 more tests to verify eligibility, which he has scheduled in the next two months. As we all know, Doctor's appointments take a long time to schedule. We are praying it all goes well and he can get on that donor list!
