High intensity training (HIT) is not dangerous. Performing exercises with too much weight and form that is too loose is dangerous.

I'm over 50 and have been doing HIT for over 30 years with no training related injuries. I've also taught HIT professionally for over 30 years and have instructed tens of thousands of workouts, with no injuries.

Training hard is NOT dangerous IF you use strict, correct form, and an appropriate level of resistance:

Train as hard as you are physically and mentally capable of and adjust your volume and frequency to avoid overtraining, rather than assume you need a certain volume and frequency and reduce intensity to accommodate it.

To paraphrase , most of you will get much better results from your workouts if you do half as much, half as often, but twice as hard.
