Blue Fern Forest Bathing

Blue Fern Forest Bathing Guided Forest Bathing In Maine, New Hampshire & Northern New England. Trust the Forest. It's the job of the forest and you to do the rest. I hope you join us!

As a Certified Forest Bathing Guide, it's my job to create a safe container for nature connection. Guided Forest Bathing is a nature based mindfulness practice - usually done with a group of others. The sessions are about 2 hours long and include guided mindfulness invitations designed to engage all your senses and drop into the present moment. They usually end with a tea gathering where we seal in our practice together and connect as a special forest community. The scientifically proven benefits of forest bathing are reduced stress, lower pulse rate & blood pressure, improved mood & creativity, improved immune function to name a few - and I have experienced just a calm sense of well being after guided sessions. Through mindful guided invitations you are able to enter the more than human world - and that is a place where you have the chance to quiet your mind and settle into your body and fully embrace the present moment. We do all of our living in the present moment only - the past is gone, and the future hasn't happened. All we have is the present moment again...and again...mindfulness practices like forest bathing give you an opportunity to drop in to the present moment and experience all the benefits.

Even the moon knows when to reschedule 🌙

Due to the high winds forecast, we’re postponing this Snow Moon guided forest bathing session at Kittery Land Trust to a later date when the sun set and moon rise align again - something that only happens a couple times a year. We’ll gather again when the timing is right.

Visit our Sessions area to see all of our Kittery Land Trust 2026 offerings - including our "Mother's Day Tea & Mindfulness Walk at Seapoint Beach Headlands" in May and our "Beaver Full Moon" session in November!

Guided Forest Bathing by Full Moon with Lanterns: Awaken your senses, ground yourself on the earth under a Snow Full Moon in nature!

You don't need a bathing suit for this kind of bathing! 🌲 Shinrin-yoku is a practice that originated in Japan of immersing your senses in a forest or nature atmosphere to enhance wellbeing. The term roughly translates to "bathing in the atmosphere of the forest." The health benefits have been well proven and include...

🌲Reduced Stress Levels: Forest bathing lowers cortisol, the stress hormone, promoting relaxation.

🌲Improved Immune Function: Exposure to phytoncides (natural compounds released by trees) boosts positive cell activity.

🌲 Lower Blood Pressure: Time in nature reduces blood pressure and improves cardiovascular health.

🌲 Enhanced Mood: Forest bathing decreases anxiety, depression, and fatigue while improving overall emotional wellbeing and even creativity.

🌲Better Sleep Quality: Spending time in nature environments supports restful sleep by reducing stress and regulating sleep cycles.

Together, we will experience the atmosphere of the salty meadow headlands & the the Snow Moon rising over the ocean at Seapoint Beach in Kittery. Moonrise is around 4:00 pm that day, right in the middle of our session. Includes several guided nature meditations + a slow walk on the earth, and ends with a bonfire Tea Gathering on the beach.

A per person donation will be made to Kittery Land Trust

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Martin Luther King Jr. is often remembered for unity—but he was equally clear about resistance.

In Letter from a Birmingham Jail, he reminds us that unjust laws demand peaceful disobedience, not quiet compliance. Nonviolence was never about being agreeable—it was about being effective.

Real peace requires tension, courage, and a willingness to disrupt what harms.

That lesson still stands.

Immigrants are welcome here in Maine. 🦞❤️

New beginnings are rarely easy.

Here in Maine, we hold space for the simple things—watching the sun rise over the ocean, savoring hot mugs of coffee together, breathing the fresh air.

If you have come here to build a life, you are welcome.
There is room for you here. This is what shared home feels like.

Winter, the Maine way. ❄️🔥
No bathing suit required.

Join us by lantern light for a guided Forest Bathing walk along the coast—also known as mindful walking, nature immersion, or nature therapy. We’ll move slowly across the headlands as the sun sets and the Snow Moon rises, ending with tea and a beach bonfire.

Come for the stillness, the waves, and the quiet magic of winter.
Stay knowing that 25% of proceeds support Kittery Land Trust.

Cold air. Warm fire. Good company.

Lee Holden at lists Forest Bathing in his 2025 book “ready, set, slow” as a slow nature based practice that “may well be just the ticket to 360 well-being.” We couldn’t agree more! 🌿💙

This book is surprising me at every turn too. I’ve been practicing QiGong 2-3 times a week with Holden QiGong since I injured my shoulder during yoga in 2017 and there are practices in here I’ve never tried. Every chapter offers daily exercises to live and breathe more slowly—and even video links. My new handbook for living slow and joyful!
