Everything changed when I realized: I wasn’t going to find fulfillment, purpose, or meaning in a job or something external of myself. I had to look within.

So I dove in and did the deep inner work and ultimately found that the happiness, peace, purpose, and meaning I was seeking all lived within myself. I just needed to reconnect with my authenticity.

Connecting with my authenticity and my true self helped me feel calm, grounded, secure, confident, creative, aligned, and deeply connected to my purpose.

As the year draws to a close, I’ve gone inward and have been reflecting a lot. One phrase that I’ve used over and over this year with myself and with my clients is some version of “I deeply and completely accept myself.”

In my reflection, I’ve learned that the shift I’m most proud of this year has been acceptance of myself.

I used to think acceptance meant that I was settling but it’s actually the opposite. By accepting ourselves, we stop wasting energy fighting reality. We stop pouring our energy into the resistance!

Instead, we redirect that energy toward growth, clarity, and intentional action.

Acceptance shifts your focus from resistance to empowerment, creating the emotional and mental space needed for breakthroughs.

As we move into this last part of the year, take notice of what you are resisting and ask yourself what would happen if you accepted it instead?

✨Introducing Within: The Wellbeing Collective✨ a passion project I’ve been co-creating with my dear friend Maja () —a mom and a multi-passionate, talented entrepreneur!

We envisioned Within as an inclusive community for women in Knoxville—a warm, welcoming space to gather, share, heal, and grow in ways that feel safe, expansive, and truly nourishing. Driven by our own longing for a community like this, we realized what we were imagining didn’t exist here, and therefore, we felt deeply called to create it.

Now, we’re inviting you to join us.🤍

Within is a place for authentic connection, where women can find genuine support and be surrounded by trust, compassion, and purpose. Our intention is to hold space for meaningful conversations, where each woman can show up just as she is. We listen with open hearts and minds, welcoming every story and experience.

Our gatherings—retreats, workshops, and community circles—are crafted with care to encourage exploration and growth in ways that feel unique to each person. Together, we’re building a community that nourishes body, mind, and spirit, inspiring every woman to embrace her authentic self.

On my own wellbeing journey, going “within” has been one of the most healing paths of all. I’ll continue my work with burnout support through EFT and Functional Nutrition, serving clients 1:1 and in groups. Within is an extension of this journey—a way to connect deeply within my community and share my passion for inner healing.

Out of curiosity, I ran a GI Map on myself back in July. My anxiety and stress levels were admittedly pretty high for the 6 months leading up to this, for reasons I am continuing to manage and support with a mix of tools and resources.

The one result that was the most alarming = low sIgA

sIgA is your primary defense to fight colds and infections. While I don’t get sick often honestly, I was reminded how important it was to take care of my mental and emotional health and really focus in on this.

If you’re getting sick often AND you have lots of stress, this is a sign that your sIgA levels could also be low but also more important to tend to your mental and emotional health.

I find it mind blowing that there is research that exists that shows that clinical EFT can increase sIgA by 113% with 1 hour … like WHAT?! 🤯🤯🤯

This may be a hard pill to swallow but your own limiting beliefs may be keeping you miserable.

It’s so easy to blame other people and look I get it, some of us are not ready to take the blame for the ways in which we keep ourselves stuck.

But as soon as you accept it, you take back the power to change it. Your behaviors shift, and your reality shifts to what you want.

Call it manifestation or call it simply stepping into your self worth, realizing that your needs matter and are of the utmost importance. And when you start taking care of yourself in this way, life becomes easier and more joyful.

And I think that’s what we all want.

Boundaries can be really difficult on our nervous system especially if you grew up feeling unsafe to communicate your needs.

Our nervous system is wired to seek acceptance and avoid rejection. This makes setting boundaries feel unsafe when saying “no” feels like it could threaten our relationships.

Boundaries are how you prevent burnout however.

“A recent study by the American Psychological Association revealed that 48 percent of parents say most days their stress is completely overwhelming, compared with 26 percent of other adults who reported the same.”

Questions for working parents:
1. Are you aware of the signs and symptoms of chronic stress and burnout?
2. How do you feel your employers are supporting you in managing you in your mental and emotional health?
3. What practices do you have in place to curb stress and do you feel they are simple to integrate into your day to day?

I’m of the firm belief that employers need to take a more active role in supporting working parents and simply having a perk like Headspace, Thrive, or Calm, isn’t enough to curb chronic stress, overwhelm and burnout.

These signs of dysregulation are your body’s way of signaling that it’s overwhelmed, doesn’t feel safe, and needs support.
