"The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself."

Oftentimes, that starts with therapy to look at our own thoughts, feelings, behaviors and how we can make adjustments to improve our self-worth.

June marks 5 years in business! 🀩🌟

5 years ago we were in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. (wait, how?🀣🀦)

While living in North Dakota, I started seeing some clients as a "side hustle", but my business has grown since then!

During 2020 and 2021, I was working a full time job , pursuing a yoga teacher certification, launched my "side" business, had a baby, and moved across the country. Whew.

Fun facts:

🌟I am a woman owned business.
🌟 My contractors are also all female entrepreneurs.
🌟 I am (still) licensed in 4 states (TN, ND, NC, MT)
🌟 My dogs favorite phrase is "Do you want to go to work?"
🌟 My little knows "mommy talks about feelings all day. They sometimes sad, mad, happy."

Running my own business means that I can make my own schedule, serve my ideal clients, and still have the time (and funds) to spend with my little and fur babies.

THANK YOU so much to everyone who has been a client, sent referrals, and/or shared my information. Major thanks to my wonderful community of private practice friends who provide so much support as well.

Being a therapist is such a honor. Thank you for allowing me to provide support in the darkest times and to celebrate the wins alongside you. Here's to the next 5+ years. 😍

Self care is NOT selfish.

You are a better mom, wife, sister, coworker, boss, etc when you are setting healthy boundaries and taking care of yourself.

🌱 Understanding the 3 Ps of Emotional Neglect 🌱
Emotional neglect can leave lasting scars that affect our ability to connect with ourselves and others. As therapists, you can use the Three P's β€” Patterns, Posture, and Phrases β€” to identify these hidden wounds in your clients.

πŸ”΅ Patterns:
Behavioral patterns like people-pleasing, emotional suppression, and self-reliance are often signs of emotional neglect. Clients may have learned to push their own needs aside, believing they don’t deserve care. 🧠

🟑 Posture:
Body language reveals what words often cannot. Clients may display closed-off posture, tension, or avoid eye contact as a way to protect themselves from emotional vulnerability. These subtle signs point to deeper wounds of neglect. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ”΄ Phrases:
Pay attention to the way clients talk about their emotions. Phrases like β€œI’m fine,” β€œIt wasn’t that bad,” or β€œI don’t need much” can indicate a history of emotional invalidation and minimized needs. πŸ—£οΈ

πŸ”‘ Why it matters:
These Three Ps offer insight into how emotional neglect shapes your clients’ attachment patterns, behaviors, and emotional worlds. By identifying these signs, you can help them heal and rewrite their emotional narratives.
