April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month 💙

Today, our staff joined the Day on the Hill in Nashville alongside the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence. Together, we met with lawmakers and raised our voices in support of survivors across Tennessee.

We advocated for the creation of a statewide SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) Coordinator, a critical step toward strengthening collaboration, improving response systems and ensuring survivors receive the care and support they deserve.

We remain committed to standing with survivors and working toward a safer, more supportive Tennessee for all.

When someone you care about has been sexually assaulted, it can be difficult to know how to help. Often times, the best way to be supportive is to assure your loved one that you believe them and ask what you can do to help. Because sexual assault can make someone feel powerless over their situation, it is also important to empower them to feel in control of their decisions afterwards. By assuring, empowering, and offering help, we can help loved ones start to rebuild feelings of trust, control, and safety.
