One principle of Positive Psychology for parenting is simple: Practice gratitude☺️.

Encourage your child to write down three things they’re grateful for each day. At the end of the week, take a moment to sit together as a family and talk about all the good things they noticed. It’s a lovely way to slow down, connect, and help your child appreciate the little joys in everyday life.
We’ve created a ✨Gratitude List✨ you can print and use with your little one—hope it brings some extra smiles to your week.❤️

Just like adults, children are still learning how to understand and manage big emotions. Sometimes those feelings can feel overwhelming—and that’s okay. While they’re still young, we can gently help them name what they’re feeling, sit with those emotions, and learn how to regulate them over time.
One of the simplest and most powerful ways to do this is by recognizing and acknowledging their feelings. Are they feeling happy? Sad? Frustrated? What might have caused those emotions? When we listen with care, we help them feel safe, seen, and understood. 👧🧒🫂

Some kids jump right into the middle of the playground, while others prefer to watch from the sidelines. As a parent, it can tug at your heartstrings to see your child standing alone or struggling to make that first connection. 👧🧒👦
But here’s the good news: Social skills are exactly that—✨skills✨. And just like reading or riding a bike, they can be learned at a pace that feels safe.
Whether your child is navigating social anxiety, missing a few cues, or simply prefers their own company, there are gentle ways to help them bridge the gap. It's not about changing who they are; it's about giving them the tools to feel comfortable in a world that can sometimes feel a little too loud.🎯

Those big feelings? They’re actually a big sign of 🌱growth🌱. It’s completely normal for kids to have emotions that feel 'too big' sometimes. Our job isn't to stop them, but to be their safe harbor while they learn to navigate the waves.🤗🫂

How do you help your little ones navigate big feelings? Share your favorite 'calm down' tip in the comments. ☺️⬇️

Play is every child’s language. 🎲🧩
Sometimes, “playing it out” is the best way for a child to talk it out. When kids don’t have the words to explain how they’re feeling, they use play to show us their world.🎯
It’s more than just fun and games—it’s how they process big emotions in a way that feels safe, natural, and a lot less scary than a "grown-up" conversation. Whether it's at home with a parent or in a session with a professional, meeting a child where they are is the best way to help them grow. 👧🧒
