Connecting Families through Birth

Why am I becoming a birth doula? It all started when I saw an interview with, of all people, Melinda Gates. Then I started reading her book, The Power of Lift. I did not know her passion for women. Anyway, thought about it a lot, and that got me thinking of how I can empower and help women.

I have 3 grown children, all delivered by midwives, and the last one with a doula present. That got me thinking that maybe I could be a doula, a mom’s helper during the birth. So that’s what brought me to this place in my life.

I am now a certified doula with DONA International and ready to help families. I have met so many wonderful people in the Birth Network scene here in East TN and am so excited to be a part of it!
