Verline Goodman, age 70 of Lafollette, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was born on February 12, 1955 to the late Hugh Arnold and Kathleen Furman Green in Athens, TN.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Goodman; and several siblings.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren; siblings, twin sister Darlene Seiber, Wayne Green, Suzie Couey, Albert Green, Donnie Green, Robert Green who was her dedicated caregiver for the last five years, and other family and friends.

Delbert “Bub” Glenn Wallace, Jr., age 48 of Andersonville, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born on December 13, 1976 to Delbert Glenn and Genevieve Hill Wallace in Oak Ridge. Bub enjoyed working on cars and was a “Ford Man” through and through. He also liked to fish. Bub loved his family, especially his children. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Wallace, Sr.; brother, Mark Edward Wallace; grandparents, Ernest and Rhoda Hill, and John and Viola Wallace; special aunt, Kathy York; special uncle, Kenny Wallace; a host of aunts and uncles; and beloved dog, Goliath.

He is survived by mother, Genevieve Wallace; wife, Kristy “Cougar” Kuriger; sisters, Nellie Salyer and husband Dillard Welch, Christy Wallace and baby daddy Mack Huckaby; children, Terry “LB” Wallace and girlfriend Sarah Hudgins, and Brittany Vanderpool and husband Chris; grandchildren, C.J. Vanderpool, Eddie Vanderpool, and Jozzlynn “Sissy” Vanderpool; nieces and nephews, Samantha Salyer, Glenda Hansard (Zack), Mark Wallace, Jr. (Hannah), Kiersten Mercado (Elijah), Raven Wallace, Ashlynn Taylor, Mack Huckaby, Jr. (Haley), Savannah Huckaby, Riley Huckaby, and Raiden Huckaby; great-neices and nephews, Bentlee, Oakley, Ariyah, Kylan, Drayton, Parker, and Oliver; special aunt, Diane Wallace; uncle, Woodrow Hill (Louise), aunts, Jamie Dews, Linda Jenkins, Frances Gibson and husband Doyle Gibson; a host of cousins, and other family and friends.

Samuel Clay Ridenour, age 23 of Andersonville, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He was born on February 14, 2002 in Oak Ridge. Sam was a graduate of Anderson County High School Class of 2020. He enjoyed video games and one of his favorite things to do was eat. Sam was a wonderful son, brother, and friend. He loved the Lord and was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, James Clay and Uvonnia Ridenour and Michael Williams.

He is survived by: father, James Ridenour; mother, Shannon Ridenour Millsaps and husband Nathan; siblings, Aaron Ridenour and wife Katlynn, Isaac Ridenour and wife Erin, Emma Ridenour, Landon Ridenour, Easton Bell, and Adison Millsaps; nephew, Aaron James Ridenour; and a future niece; grandparents, Harold and Lela Mack; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.

Oza Simpson, Jr. age 85 of Jacksboro, formerly of the Cherry Bottom community, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 4, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1939 in Pioneer to the late Oza, Sr. and Bertha Hill Simpson. Oza served in the US Army. He was ordained a deacon in Aurora, Illinois at New Hope Baptist Church in 1961. When he moved back to Tennessee he then served as deacon and Sunday School teacher at Red Ash Baptist Church for many years. Oza took several mission trips to Haiti and also travelled to Israel. He enjoyed spending time with his family who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, H.L. Simpson, Ova Simpson, Vivian Byrd, and Gladys Jeffers; son-in-law, David Schmidlin; and daughter-in-law, Susan Bean Simpson.
He is survived by wife of 68 years, Marlena Simpson; children, Julie Madison and husband James, Leah Ann Schmidlin, Kim Reynolds and husband Steve, Brian Simpson, and Keith Simpson; siblings, Buster Simpson, Mildred Moon, and Geraldine Brock; grandchildren, Jamey, Jessica, Shayne, Lauren, Joshua, Tara, Dillon, Caleb, and Felicia; great-grandchildren, Mason, Lucas, Cooper, Madison, Riley, Briann, Ella, Carley, Arley, Saylor, and Bambi; great-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Landry; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Thomas Wayne Jenkins, age 53, of Caryville, TN passed away on August 1, 2025, at his home after a courageous and faithful battle with cancer. Tommy was born on January 4, 1972, in Anderson County to J.C. and Kathy Jenkins. Tommy proudly served in the US Marine Corps and in the Army National Guard. He worked at Y-12 National Security complex for 20 years.
Tommy had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone. He loved fishing, hunting, bluegrass and gospel music, and spending time with his family and friends.
Tommy was saved at an early age and was a member of Guiding Star Baptist Church of Lake City.
Tommy was preceded in death by Father, J.C. Jenkins, sister Theresa Jenkins Brown, and grandparents George Walker, Georgia Walker, Dudley Jenkins and Sue Jenkins.
Tommy was survived by his daughter, Samantha, of Cleveland, Mother Kathy Jenkins of Caryville, brother, James Jenkins of Caryville, nieces Tayler Brown of Lake City, Tifani Brown of Chattanooga, Alex Jenkins of Lake City, nephew Andrew Jenkins – US Air Force in Tucson, Arizona, great nephew Grayson Hall of Lake City, several aunts, uncles, and a host of family and friends.
The family would like to thank UT Hospice, Allpro Home Care Solutions, Dr. Doddabele’s office at Tennessee Care Center, and Dr. Elliot Navo’s office for the excellent care. The family would also like to thank Tommy’s family, friends, and coworkers for their love and support.

Shirley Elaine Williamson, age 73 of Oak Ridge, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born on March 23, 1952 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Jesse and Rika Oosterga Hathaway. Shirley was an avid busybody who had to know everything that was going on. She enjoyed shopping for her grandkids, watching Wheel of Fortune and everything Hallmark. Shirley also loved Tiger Woods and would not allow anyone to talk bad about him. She enjoyed spending her time at the campground and sitting on her porch sipping on a Coca-Cola with a straw with a pocket full of Hershey Kisses. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by; brothers, Paul Hathaway, Robert Hathaway, Raymond Hathaway, Jackie Hathaway; sisters, Frances Owens, Charlotte Terry, Joann Rhymes; and grandson, Tyler Burchfield.

She is survived by; husband of 37 years, Michael Williamson; son, Jesse Kassner and wife Jennifer; daughters, Shila Burchfield and husband Ricky, and Brittney Lowe and husband Jake; grandchildren, Michael Cameron (Rheanna), Zachary, Destiny, Alyssa, Makyla, Jaxon, Aiden, Hudson, and Indy; five great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Willis; brother, Hillary Hathaway; a host of nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

Megan Marie Bowling, age 18 of LaFollette, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Megan was big hearted, strong, and beautiful inside and out. When Megan loved you she loved you with her all. Megan had a smile that would light up your day, and a laugh that would make you laugh. She would help anybody she could even if she didn’t have much. Her beloved family will remember the best memories of her and cherish them as each day passes by.

Megan was preceded in death by her mother, Misty Hopson; uncle, Travis Hopson; grandfathers, Wayne Hopson and Mike Cooper; and grandmother, Mona Hensley.

Betty Lou Gross, age 69 of Norris, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 at her home. She enjoyed reading harlequin romance novels, flower gardening, and watching wildlife, especially birds. Betty was an amazing cook and also loved to sing in church. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by: sister, Suzie Camp; parents, Jess Howard and Misha Martin Blanton.

She is survived by: husband of 50 years, Jim Gross; children, Jess Gross, Bridget Jones and husband Forrest; grandchildren, Forrest, III, Connor, Abby and husband Zack, Anna, and Kadee; cousin, Becky Bernard; brother-in-law, Brad Camp; special friends, the Hatmakers, the Dunnings, and the Waylands; and other family and friends.

Imogene Phillips Wilson, age 68 of the Fratersville community passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was born on August 7, 1956 to the late Amos Russell and Ora Mae Perkins Phillips in Lake City, TN. Imogene enjoyed shopping but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her brothers and sisters. Imogene was a member of Main Street Baptist Church but faithfully served in many local churches. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by, husband, John Michael Wilson; siblings, Jerry Phillips, and Mary Neal; and great-grandchild, Baby Wilson.
