NAMI is deeply alarmed by reports of significant staffing cuts at the SAMHSA that threaten to weaken the stability of our nation’s mental health and substance use systems—especially during a time of growing need.

SAMHSA’s leadership in advancing prevention, treatment, and crisis care—especially through initiatives like the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline—is essential. These professionals help millions of Americans access hope, healing, and community support.

As the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization, NAMI calls on policymakers to protect and strengthen SAMHSA’s capacity to serve people and families in every community. Now more than ever, we must invest in the people and programs that make recovery possible.

NAMIWalks Knoxville, was amazing!! đź’šđź’™

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, and shared their support. Our community continues to grow, and more importantly—awareness continues to rise.

If you didn’t get a chance to give, there’s still time to support the cause!

No one should have to go through mental health struggles alone.
This week, reach out. Listen. Be there.
You might be the reason someone feels seen.

🧠💚 Mental Illness Awareness Week 💚🧠
NNAMI Knoxville

1 in 5 adults experience mental illness each year — but too often, stigma and silence keep people from getting the help they deserve. That’s why Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) is so important.

This week, NAMI Knoxville joins with advocates across the country to raise awareness, share real stories, and remind our community: You are not alone.

🌟 Here’s how you can get involved:
âś… Follow us this week as we share facts, resources, and personal stories
âś… Wear green to show your support and help
âś… Share our posts to spread awareness
âś… Attend a NAMI support group or sohn up for a educational class

Let’s stand together and speak openly about mental health. Healing begins with awareness — and awareness starts with YOU. 💚
