Congratulations to Daniel, one of our May Employees of the Month! He works in the Laboratory and has been with us nine years. Here is what we received in his nomination:
🌟 Many providers specifically request Daniel because they trust his knowledge, judgment, and attention to detail. His reliability and commitment to doing things right have earned him a high level of respect and confidence from the team.
🌟Daniel always goes above and beyond while caring for his patients. A repeat test was requested, and Daniel personally drew the blood, reassured the patient, and made sure all testing was completed promptly so the provider could continue care without delay.
🌟During a suspected transfusion reaction, Daniel took the initiative to call the provider for a blood bank consultation. Knowing the patient might need another unit, he proactively reached out to prevent any delays in care if additional blood was ordered. His foresight and attention to detail made a significant difference.
When asked for the “why” behind his work, Daniel said: “I have been a medical laboratory technician with Covenant Health for over nine years. I have spent my entire laboratory career at LeConte, including several years as a laboratory assistant and completing my clinical rotations here. I enjoy working in the lab at LeConte because it is where I feel I belong.”
