During National Nurses Week, it is with great pride that we congratulate our latest DAISY Award winner, Cheryl Hall, RN. Cheryl is an esteemed member of our Critical Care team, and her nomination was submitted by a recent open heart surgery patient.

Her nomination read: "Cheryl was proactive in managing my care, staying ahead of my pain at my request. More importantly, she showed genuine compassion. She listened, reassured me, and brought me comfort during a moment that could have easily felt scared. This was a procedure I wasn’t expecting to go through, and the recovery process was difficult. But because of her, I felt a little less pressure. Her kindness, knowledge, and attentiveness made all the difference in my healing experience. I truly could not have asked for better care, and I am deeply grateful for the impact she had on my recovery."

Cheryl, thank you for the dedication to your profession and to every patient who comes under care. We are truly blessed to have you as a part of our team.

Today's weather cleared up and was the perfect backdrop for another visit from the Smiley Swirl ice cream truck in honor of National Nurses and Hospital Weeks. The sweet treats were a gift from the nursing team to the entire hospital staff as a way to say thank you for everything they do. This fun event is one of four with another tonight and two more over the weekend. Great teamwork comes with sweet rewards!

Last Friday, after an incredible 42 years of dedication, hard work, and behind-the-scenes excellence, we celebrated the retirement of Richard Brown from our Engineering Department.

Richard’s commitment has quite literally helped keep our hospital running—ensuring safe, reliable environments for patients, families, and staff every single day. His knowledge, steady presence, and willingness to go the extra mile have made a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come.

While we’ll miss seeing him around the halls, we’re excited for him as he begins this well-earned next chapter.
