There’s a moment many of us know too well: you open your phone, scroll for a few seconds, and suddenly your body is carrying the weight of the world. The headlines, the heartbreak, the noise... it’s a lot for a human heart to hold. And yet, we often expect ourselves to absorb it all without consequence.

Did you know that you can care deeply about the world without drowning in it?

You can stay informed without becoming consumed. And you can be compassionate without sacrificing your inner steadiness. This isn’t avoidance. It’s called honoring yourself.

Instead of absorbing everything, you get to choose how you engage. You get to decide what supports your values, your energy, and your ability to show up meaningfully.

Here are three grounding practices that help you stay connected without losing yourself:

1. Create a “Window of Engagement”

Choose specifc times to check the news. This protects your emotional energy and keeps you from spiraling into reactivity.

Ask yourself:

When am I most resourced to take in information?

When am I most vulnerable to overwhelm?

2. Anchor Back Into Your Body

When the world feels chaotic, your body becomes your home base. Try:

• A deep inhale followed by a slow exhale

• Placing a hand on your heart

• Feeling your feet on the floor

• Naming what’s true in this moment

3. Choose One Small, Values‑Aligned Action

Overwhelm often comes from feeling powerless. Tiny action can restore agency. This might look like:

• Reaching out to someone who needs support

• Donating to a cause you believe in

• Volunteering an hour of your time

• Practicing kindness in your own home

You are allowed to protect your peace. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to step back without stepping away from your humanity.

The world doesn’t need you overwhelmed it needs you grounded, capable, and connected to what matters most.

And it all begins with how you care for yourself.

There’s a part of you that has always known how to heal. Not the part that pushes, performs, or keeps everything together but the quiet, steady part beneath all of that.

Reiki is one of the ways we reconnect with that inner knowing. At its core, Reiki isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about remembering. Remembering your wholeness. Remembering your connection to something larger than the day‑to‑day noise. Remembering that your energy, your intuition, and your spirit are always in conversation.

What Makes Reiki a Spiritual Practice? Reiki works on the level of energy but its impact often feels spiritual because it touches the places we don’t always have language for. Many people describe it as

• A sense of coming home to themselves

• Feeling held by something gentle and wise

• A softening of old emotional patterns

• A clearer connection to intuition

• A renewed sense of meaning or direction

It’s less about “doing” and more about allowing the body to relax, the mind to quiet, and the spirit to rise to the surface.

In a world that constantly pulls us outward, Reiki leads you inward. It creates a sacred moment where you’re not performing, producing, or proving anything. You’re simply receiving.

During a practitioner‑channeled session, the energy meets you exactly where you are and supports the parts of you that are tired, tender, or ready to shift. This is why so many people describe Reiki as “coming back into balance.” It reconnects you with your own inner light.

Reiki can be a powerful companion to both coaching and therapy and when you’re navigating transitions, seeking clarity, or longing for a deeper connection with yourself. It supports emotional healing, spiritual grounding, and the quiet inner shifts that lead to meaningful change.

If you feel drawn to explore this side of Reiki, you’re welcome to reach out to schedule a healing session. I also offer a free 30‑minute discovery call if you’d like to talk about what you’re moving through and see whether this work resonates.

I’d be honored to support your spiritual unfolding.

As February arrives with its familiar themes of love and heart‑centered moments, it feels like the perfect time to look at love from a coaching perspective. In that direction, we often talk about love as if it lives only in the heart. It's a feeling, a spark, a connection we “just know.” But in coaching, we see something deeper and far more empowering...

Your values reveal themselves in three places:

1. Peak Moments: Think of a time you felt deeply alive, proud, grounded, or connected. What was present in that moment? Joy? Creativity? Courage? Connection? Freedom?

2. Pain Points: Values often hide inside frustration or grief. If something consistently hurts, it’s usually because a core value is being violated. For example: If you feel resentful when your boundaries are ignored, you may value truth, respect, or autonomy.

3. Longings: What do you crave more of in your life? Not goals but rather, qualities. Ease. Beauty. Steadiness. Expression. Adventure. Peace. Longing is a compass.

🌼 A Reflection to Try This Week
Take a quiet moment and ask yourself: “When do I feel most like myself?” Write down three recent moments or from years ago. Then look for the qualities that were present in each one. Those qualities are clues to your core values.

You don’t need to get it perfect. You just need to get honest.

As we step into a new year, many of us feel the familiar pull to “try harder,” “be more disciplined,” or “finally get it together.”

But here’s the truth most people never hear: Willpower isn’t designed to carry us through meaningful change. Values are.

Willpower is a short-term burst of energy the brain uses to override discomfort. It’s useful for quick decisions, like resisting a second dessert or finishing a task before a deadline. But as a long-term strategy, it burns out fast.

When life gets heavy (and for many of us, it has been heavy for a long time), the brain conserves energy by defaulting to old patterns. This is why resolutions fade by February. We tend to rely on this old system of motivation. But actually, your brain is asking for a different kind of fuel.

🌟 Values-Based Motivation: The Sustainable Alternative

Tap into something deeper and far more resilient by considering your identity, your purpose, and what truly matters to you. So instead of forcing yourself into action, you’re pulled forward by meaning.

Values-based motivation sounds like:

• “I move my body because I value my vitality and presence.”

• “I set boundaries because I value my peace and truth.”

• “I rest because I value being grounded and available for the people I love.”

• “I create because I value expression and impact.”

🌼 A Gentle Reflection for This Week

Take a moment to consider what value you want to lead with this season. Not a goal. Not a resolution. A value.

Maybe it’s steadiness.

Maybe it’s joy.

Maybe it’s truth, creativity, connection, or vitality.

Choose one. Let it be your North Star for the next few weeks and just watch your actions naturally begin to shift around it.

12/20/2025

Whether you're a caregiver, a creative, or someone navigating a season of change, the need to contribute, to give, uplift, and make meaning, is not just noble. It’s essential. It’s one of the six core human needs identified in human needs psychology, and it’s the one that most directly feeds the spirit.

When we contribute, we:

• Affirm our place in the world
• Transform personal milestones into collective healing
• Build legacy through love
• Experience joy that’s rooted in meaning, rather than performance

Acts of contribution, whether volunteering, mentoring, or simply offering presence, activate reward centers in the brain that boost oxytocin, reduce stress, and foster emotional resilience. It’s not just good for others, it’s actually healing for us!

💌 Here's a list of everyday acts of Contribution

• Offer a listening ear without trying to fix

• Share your story in a way that helps others feel less alone

• Send a handwritten note or voice message of encouragement

• Create and gift something meaningful like an affirmation card or a poem

• Walk for a cause that aligns with your values

• Mentor or guide someone through a challenge you’ve lived

• Donate gently used items with intention and care

• Celebrate someone’s progress

• Offer your presence at a community event, support group, or fundraiser

• Curate resources (books, podcasts, memes) that uplift and share them

Your presence, your voice, your care, are enough.

This season, I invite you to reflect on how you’re already contributing. Not from obligation, but from overflow. What lights you up? What legacy do you want to leave someday or today?!

Let’s contribute, not because we have to, but because we’re here to.

Thank you for all the light you contribute to my life and to the world. I wish you many blessings this holiday season and throughout 2026!

12/10/2025

In the quiet moments between tasks, in the ache of uncertainty, and in the joy of shared laughter, our need for love and connection pulses beneath it all. It’s not a weakness. It’s not a distraction. It’s biology, it’s belonging, and it’s the very foundation of resilience.

As humans, we are wired for connection. From the earliest days of life, our nervous systems seek safety in eye contact, gentle touch, the sound of a familiar voice. These moments of co-regulation shape our capacity to trust, to heal, and to thrive. And as adults, the need doesn’t disappear. It deepens.

Neuroscience tells us that connection calms the stress response, boosts immune function, and enhances emotional regulation. But beyond the science, there’s soul. There’s the sacred experience of being seen, heard, and held without needing to perform or prove.

In coaching, we often explore goals, habits, and mindset shifts.

But beneath every breakthrough is a deeper truth: healing happens in relationship. Whether it’s with a trusted coach, a friend, a partner, or even through self-compassion rituals, connection is the soil where growth takes root.

Here are a few gentle invitations to explore this theme in your own life:

• What relationships feel nourishing, safe, and reciprocal right now?

• Where might you be craving deeper connection with others or with yourself?

• What small ritual could help you feel more emotionally attuned today?

Whether you’re navigating relationship or health challenges, caregiving responsibilities, or simply the complexity of being human, remember this: you are worthy of love and connection. Not because you’ve earned it. But because you exist.

Let this be your reminder to reach out, to soften, and to allow love in - one breath, one moment, one relationship at a time.
