It starts on the sidelines—but it doesn’t end there.

As National Athletic Training Month comes to a close, we’re recognizing the powerful role school-based athletic trainers play in guiding athletes and families through injury and recovery.

That trust—built in the moment of need—often leads to lifelong relationships with the providers who help get them back in the game.

From student-athlete to coach, principal, and parent of three active kids, read about Angie Rogers' decades-long connection to KOC.

From surgery to summit—this is what recovery can look like. 🏔️

“Climbed Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park after having both hips replaced. My left hip was done on 7/2/25, and my right hip was done on 11/12/25. Four months after my last hip replacement, I went up Mt. LeConte on 3/11/26 to spend a week and a half working with the helicopter to help get Mt. LeConte Lodge open for their 2026 season. Thanks, Dr. Nadaud!”

Stories like this highlight what’s possible with expert care, dedication, and the right support along the way. We’re proud to help our patients get back to the activities they love most.

Flexor tendon injuries can make everyday movements surprisingly difficult. These tendons allow you to bend your fingers and grip, so when they’re damaged, you might notice pain in the palm, trouble bending a finger, a snapping sensation during the injury, or even numbness in the fingertip.

Even if the symptoms seem mild at first, flexor tendon injuries often require timely medical care to heal properly. Early evaluation can prevent long-term stiffness or loss of motion and help you get back to normal function faster.

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t wait to have it checked.
