TheGypsy&TheBard

TheGypsy&TheBard The Gypsy & The Bard are based in East TN with focus on alternative and holistic healing.

The Gypsy and the Bard is located in East TN and was founded by a husband and wife who both consider themselves healers in different ways. The Gypsy (Amanda Stitt) is an RN with a background as a paramedic whose eyes were opened to the importance of mental health in the treatment of patients and fellow co-workers. The Bard (Dustin Stitt) is a student of psychology, a writer, and a veteran of the N

avy Intelligence community who hopes to change the way we approach mental health in our country by running a small business focused on mentorship. What started as a blog to document our adventures and discuss healing, philosophy, and personal growth has grown into a platform to sell our creations and help pay for our degree work so that we can continue to chase the impact we each want to have in the world. We sell handmade jewelry, candles, essential oil products (such as massage oils and beard grooming kits) and more, and we also teach classes to help others learn how to create their own pieces of art. Our brand is as alive as our relationship, and we're confident that it will continue to grow as we do. Through the Bard's small business, he offers life coaching and experiential activities focused on maintaining mental and spiritual health, and we're confident that community that has supported us up until this point will continue to recognize the importance of the impact we hope to have in our communities.

The feedback I’m getting on this book makes me think it might change the world! Manuscript is finished, just sorting out the details. I’ll be ordering the first prints this coming week if all works out.

This tree was and remains a powerful symbol to me. I was surprised to feel a sense of grief for it when it fell some time ago.

Perhaps the only thing more powerful than a living symbol is the same mighty symbol, fallen.

In proper time.

After it’s work is complete.

Having shared life and love with many.

In a state of peaceful letting go.

From the acorn, the mighty and unwavering oak, and from the oak, ten million acorns.

Had breakfast with my daughter this morning and dropped her off with her mother.

Both of my clients today were perfectly willing to go hiking around in the rain with me, talking about matters of substance.

Taking a break in the car between hikes. ☺️🙏

So honored to live the life I do. Today is a good day.

This year I gave everything I had to living the best life I can envision for myself and family.

It’s a song I like to play on repeat, and the consequences of the effort aren’t really much of a concern to me.

To move forward in truth, and to recognize that every ending signals a new beginning.

The victory is in the echo. 🙏

Thankful for my path.

Wickless Forever Candle by the Queen.

I’m not much for sweet smelling candles, preferring the scents of forest and herb, but this smells quite good!

I’m getting a little collection of these wickless candles going at the office. For $25, you get the candle and the warmer. If you already have a warmer, the candles are just $15.

So far, we have Pine Forest, Crows Nest, and Egg Nog, but she can make just about anything.

Get a few, they don’t seem to burn out and the scent is really long lasting. It’s been nice at the office to pick one according to my mood.

That picture you’ve always seen in your mind…the one of you dancing with fate and achieving your own potential…

Don’t ever turn away from that and call it humility. If you dig down deeply enough, you’ll recognize that it is fear.

Don’t ever apologize for what you are. ♥️🙏

“And so came a day, midwinter
When the sun raced across the sky
and those who were attentive
Prepared for the longest night
With fires in their hearths
And hope drawn forth to mind
When the light around us fades to nothing
The light within us shines.”

Every day is Winter Solstice when you work in mental health. Every day is someone’s darkest night. On this day, as every day, I offer a humble reminder that the sun will shine again.

It’s important to acknowledge the cycles of nature. 🙏🙏🙏

Finished another chapter in my book, which I believe will harness the magic of truth, hope, and pure intention, and in doing so, change lives.

“The Alchemy of Self” just might be here in time for Christmas.

I have no better gift for the world at this point in my life.

My reward for finishing the chapter? Quick lunch break, lunch with my wife and son, and then I’m back to it to finish another chapter, have an intake session and an evening session before some late evening rest and reprieve.

From the fragile acorn grows the mighty oak, and the mightiest of oaks casts the largest shadow.

If your shadow looms overwhelmingly, do not be afraid to confront it. For within it, you will discover your own strength, and become a symbol of shelter and stability for many.

Do not neglect or distract yourself from your internal journey, or the shadow will always loom before you and break your confidence.

The obstacle reveals the path.

It is limiting to believe that the magic of new life only occurs amongst our own species. A closer look at our environment - just 30 minutes or an hour per day - reveals that it is all around us, always.

In my life, it has always proven true that the more we understand, the less we are concerned with being understood.

I’m thankful for the journey.

This week I’m thankful beyond words that despite how far I’ve journeyed as a human, I can still and will always be able to find pockets of transformative growth that guide my next steps.

This winter, as much of nature moves into a state of hibernation, I encourage everyone to SLOW DOWN, to BREATHE, and look to the internal. To consider what you have become and what your larger role in our world and in your relationships might be.

Take some time to step back and to see the big picture. Prioritize communicating with your God, if you serve one, but mostly, prioritize LISTENING to them.

Even if you don’t serve a God, slow down and listen. Read a book that matters to you. Reread one that transformed your life at an earlier stage.

Problems, questions, and pain have always existed. Chaos has always existed.

In its midst, there has always existed the peaceful stillness of the ancient guiding principles of faith, hope, gratitude, and love.

But the greatest of these is Love. 🙏
