Amazing Grayson is one!! This sweet, fuzzy-headed, happy little boy has completed our family. I can't believe it has already been a year, and at the same time, I can't remember our lives without him.

He crawls, pulls up, and cruises and is into anything and everything. His biggest frustration is that he wants to walk and gets soooo mad about it. He is the typical youngest kid, going with the flow and always smiling. Favorite foods: shrimp and veggie pasta, salmon, bananas, grilled cheese, and waffles from

He is a great sleeper but does just fine if we have to skip a nap too (youngest kid).

He loves his big brother more than anything. And the feeling is mutual.

God blessed us so big with you Baby Grayson. This year has been pure joy watching you grow and explore the world around you. We can't wait to see the little person you grow into, but please, no rush!

"The days are long but the years are short." You can say that again.

the did not disappoint! If you told me this time last year that I would complete a marathon before Grayson's first birthday, much less a PR, I would have laughed at you! But here we are!

My 3rd full marathon (first as a mama) was my fastest and by far most enjoyable yet.

Shae brought Clayton out to cheer me on and even surprised me with dandiflowers at mile 16 đź’™. Crossing the finish line with my little boy was by far the highlight for me.

So thankful for the support of my husband and sweet family and friends cheering me on. Also beyond grateful for my training partner .radtke for doing this with me!

Wednesday I'll find out if I was accepted into the via lottery and then we will start the cycle again!

When Shae Keller decides to shave his beard (because "no shave November" ended 3 months ago), we have some fun. Swipe for all the different looks. I prefer the neatly trimmed full version or the baby face at the end, but the stash is pretty amazing.

Last weekend, I ran my first half marathon in just over a year and a half: the

I'd planned to run one last Fall, but my pregnancy didn't allow me to do it comfortably so I pulled the plug (and the race was cancelled anyway due to covid).

Clayton was over 2 years old when I ran my first postpartum half, but I knew I wanted to get back to it sooner after this pregnancy.

Training looked different this time. Getting up early to pump before I leave for hours to run, and I either have to be back before the next feeding or leave enough bottles for Shae to feed Grayson. So more planning. But with that comes more feeling of accomplishment, a feeling of "I've got this!"

Being a mom is hard. Getting the chance to do what you love is hard. But it's so worth it. Having this outlet keeps me grounded, shows my kids that my health is a priority, and shows them that you can do anything you put your mind to.

My goal for this race was to finish happy and enjoy the ride. In the process of that, I saw that a sub 2 hour finish was attainable. I stay right with the 2 hour pacer the whole time. Then the mile-long hill at 9.5 in showed up. I allowed myself to walk briefly while I took in nutrition.

"Still possible" I thought. On the last hill at mile 12, I kept thinking "push it for Dad. For the boys!" Then I thought, "know what?? They wouldn't care what your time is, just that you had a good run and this has been a great one!" So I finished at 2:00:33. And it was my very best for where I am at this point. I finished happy and enjoyed the ride (except for that hill at 9.5). The course was beautiful and the race was extremely well organized.

Oh and I won my age group so yay!

Postpartum fitness is tricky. You can't set out expecting to crush your PR right out of the gate. The point is you're out there, taking steps towards your goals for you and for them.

This weekend I will run another half (the one that was cancelled last year. Of course I want to shave off those 33 seconds, but my real goal is to enjoy it as much as I did this one.

Amazing Grayson is 8 months old!

He is sitting up, has 6 teeth (still waiting on these other 4 to pop through), will roll his way across any room, wants to stand and play with all of big brother's toys. And he is truly the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

If you need me, I'll just be over here soaking up all of his sweetness.

Thankful for my favorite person. Thankful for running. Thankful for races. Thankful for my mom for giving us a kid free morning of all three!

Running this 10k with my husband was the highlight of my day, week...I don't know...but it was special.

We never get to run together (heck, we hardly get any time together), and this...doing something we both love together, was so wonderful. He was feeling GOOD, but he stayed back with me and let me pace us. We had a blast.

We had a full, special day with family and turkey and laughs, but I'm most thankful for this guy because he runs beside me through all of life's busy days.

Y'all I'm not a , but I've so enjoyed setting up some activities like this Thanksgiving project yesterday! Thanks for this wonderful idea! So easy and I think it looks really cute.

While it dried, we used another idea from and painted some cars with the leftover paint (washable of course).

This looked super complicated at first, but the most challenging part was capturing a good picture after!

And of course he is in his Christmas jammies.

The Brentwood Block. I always run this route when I visit my parent's house. It's the route the distance runners ran as highschool track practice. I was a sprinter and couldn't imagine running 6.5 miles.

In my 30s, when I took up distance running, I surprised myself by running this route and for the last 13 years, I run it whenever I visit.

Yesterday was the first time I've run it (and the longest I've run) since having Grayson, but my fitness is there so I went for it. It was brutal. It was in the 80s at 8am and little to no shade. I had to walk some, but I did it.

Before and after pics tell it all: My excitement before and my exhaustion after. Do things you never thought you could do. They may become your new favorite thing.

Today, if you're dreading that workout, think of it as a stress relief credit for the day. Then, when you're reaching for the junk food, remember your hard work, and make the decision to honor that choice.

Willpower is a muscle that can be strengthened over time. If you are one who reaches for the junk when you're stressed, DON'T BUY THE JUNK in the first place.

Need help with this? I've got you!

The health benefits of exercise are basically endless… but let’s talk about endorphins. “Exercise gives you endorphins! Endorphins make you happy!”

Endorphins are released during both aerobic and anaerobic exercise, creating a powerful effect on mood! In fact, the positive mood benefits of just 20 minutes of exercise can last up to TWELVE HOURS!

So, not only does your workout help your health, but it also makes you a happier person.

What workout is your go-to endorphin release? I'd love to hear from you!
