Choosing where to bring your baby earth side is an incredibly individualized choice. The only right answer is the one where you feel the most peace.

We are very lucky to have options for birth here in Knoxville, including a mature ecosystem of birth workers and midwifery groups to help facilitate birth cottage or home birth desires.

Additionally, those who want a hospital birth have incredibly supportive options in our area for physiological birth. I’ve witnessed UT Medical Center, Parkwest, and Tennova North staff all be supportive of vastly different wants and needs.

The only way you could go wrong is by not evaluating your options against what is best for your family. Have questions? Feel free to shoot me a DM to work through options - I could chat about this alllll day 🤍

A few families I’ve spoken with lately have been offered an induction and didn’t realize it was even on the table.

It can feel like the decision suddenly happens really fast.

If you’re looking for help navigating those conversations, I’d love to connect.

📣 Tell me in the comments: were you offered an induction? Did it surprise you?

One of the biggest myths about doulas:

“That means my partner won’t have a role.”

The opposite is true.

Doulas support the partner too — giving them tools, confidence, and guidance so they can show up fully during labor.

Because birth isn’t something you have to navigate alone.

Save this for your birth partner 🤍

Hi my friends 🤍

I was born here & grew up surrounded by family in East Tennessee. My husband and I moved back to our hometown last year to raise our precious daughter, Rosie, in the same community that raised us.

Becoming a mother deepened my passion for supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum weeks. As a birth doula, it’s truly an honor to walk alongside Knoxville parents during such a meaningful season of life.

If you’re expecting and exploring doula support, I’d love to connect.

You don’t need fancy toys to “stimulate” your newborn.
You are the stimulation. 🤍

Talk to them. Read out loud, even if it’s a picture book with three words on the page. They may not understand the story, but they know your voice. And every word they hear is building their little brain.

Walk them around your home. Narrate your day. “We’re making coffee.” “This is the window.” It feels simple because it is. And simple is enough.

At this stage, your presence is the most powerful thing in the room. 🤍

During labor, my job is to hold the little details so you can stay inside your birth. 🤍 My doula was actually behind the lens of this picture, capturing my sweet husband working through a contraction with me.

Here’s a glimpse of what support actually looks like:

✨ continuous physical + emotional support
I’m with you the whole time. Hip squeezes, position changes, grounding breaths, reassurance, talking through fears, riding the waves together. Calm is contagious, and I help you find it again and again.

✨ creating a space that feels safe
We plan ahead so your environment supports your nervous system. When labor day comes, I help protect the vibe, the energy, and the plan so you can truly let go and labor.

✨ support for your partner
Your partner is your anchor, and I support them too. I guide them, keep them informed, and help them stay confident and involved so you feel surrounded by a strong, connected team.

Birth works best when you feel safe, supported, and seen. That’s the heart of doula care.

I was born a VBAC baby in the 90’s 🤍

My mom told my birth story over and over growing up. Surrounded by the women in our family. The same women who had heard it before, but still leaned in to her sacred retelling.

It wasn’t just a story.
It was advocacy.
It was believing your body.
It was choosing something different.

Those stories shaped me long before I ever stepped into birth work.

Now I’m a Certified VBAC Doula through The VBAC Link.

If you’re planning a VBAC in Knoxville, you deserve preparation that’s evidence-based and support that truly believes in your ability.

When we talk about “preparing for baby,” we usually mean the nursery, the registry, the birth plan.

But postpartum deserves a plan too 🤍

Most new parents need support in three big ways:

✨ Physical support: care for your healing body and your baby’s brand new one. This might look like your provider, lactation support, pelvic floor rehab, or someone who can simply say, “this is normal,” and point you in the right direction when it’s not.

✨ Emotional support: a safe place to land while you figure out your new identity. The people you can text at 2am. The ones who let you be honest about how you’re really doing. Your partner, your best friend, your doula, your therapist.

✨ Logistical support: the everyday, unglamorous help that makes survival possible. Meals dropped at the door. Someone grabbing your toddler from school. Someone holding the baby so you can shower without rushing.

You were never meant to do this alone.

Preparing for postpartum is one of the most loving things you can do for yourself and your family.

You did it. Baby’s asleep 🤍

And I know the laundry is staring at you. The dishes are stacked. But before you give that quiet moment away, let it belong to you first ✨

Drink water. Eat something warm. Shower. Scroll in peace. Close your eyes. Even ten minutes of care counts. The work will still be there. Your nervous system deserves a turn too.

If making space for that feels impossible, you don’t have to figure it out alone. That’s part of why I’m here. Support isn’t just for birth day. It’s for the long, tender in-between moments too 💛

early labor reminders 🌅✨

early labor is not a test you have to pass.

it’s okay to be excited, to be unsure, and to rest while it unfolds.

eat, nap, shower, and laugh if you can. this phase is about gathering strength, not proving endurance.

your body knows the rhythm!

Reflecting on your birth story can be powerful 🤍

Talking it through. Naming the feelings. Getting support when you need it. Giving yourself real grace. Those are all part of healing.

Whether your birth felt beautiful, complicated, or somewhere in between, you don’t have to carry it by yourself. Your emotions are valid. Your experience matters. And caring for your mental health is just as important as caring for your body 💕

There is space for your whole story here.
