Did you know over 90% of people gain all the weight back that they lose on diets?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Is that you? It was me for many years. I lose a quick 15 pounds. Gain it back. Do fad diet. Gain it back. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Does that sound familiar?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We make ourselves have such restrictive diets, that we can't sustain weight loss, and we binge our way right back to the same weight (and sometimes even gain more). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sustainable weight loss, which we should all want, takes TIME! Are you being realistic with your goal? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of us would love to lose 20 pounds in 3 months and keep it off, but that might not be optimal for lifelong results. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After being in a calorie deficit, you have TAUGHT your body to use fewer calories, so in order to eat more and maintain your weight loss, you need to TEACH your body to eat higher calories. We do this in the form of a reverse diet.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What the heck is a reverse diet? It's just like it sounds...you start to increase your calories slowly over time while sustaining your weight loss. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Please don't be part of the statistic above like I was, plan for a reverse diet, so you can eat more food and maintain your weight loss! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Ladies, listen up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You DO NOT have to spend 1.5+ hours a day working out. You just DON'T. More isn't always better and especially in this case. That's 10.5 hours per week, YIKES!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We've been led to believe we need to be these super-thin cardio bunnies with the sweatbands and leotards from the 80's VHS tapes our moms used to watch. It's just not true.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Quick, effective workouts 4-5 days per week, and if you want to be TONED...strength training is where it's at!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm talking 30 minutes at the most, 4-5 days per week, that's 2-2.5 hours per week.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Think about all the things you could do with an extra 8 hours a week? Have a night out with the girls, play a board game with your family, read a book, the possibilities are endless. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I switched up my workout game, everything just fell into place. My body transformed and my attitude towards my family and time with them changed, too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have an entire week's worth of workouts saved to my 'workouts' highlight on Instagram, screenshot them, use them! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're on Facebook and want some workouts, DM me or comment below "workouts please" and I'll message them right to ya! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I give you permission to hang up the sweatband and leotards and the VHS tapes to get lifting some weights! Get after it friends! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Don't do it!

Simple. Tiny joke, but serious.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To the people who spend 3+ hours on Sunday evening meal prepping every little thing they are going to eat over the next 7 days for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, pre-packing all of it into neat looking containers, and posting about it all over social media, good for you. Honestly, kudos, I can't do that, but that doesn't mean I'm not healthy or focused on healthy meals.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meal prepping all my meals on Sunday...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. made me less spontaneous. No tacos, if it wasn't in the plan. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. created a negative relationship with food. Eating food that wasn't prepped seemed indulgent.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. I spent all my time thinking about food and not spending time with those around me. The hours finding recipes, planning lists, shopping , preparing, and dividing food out for the week were hours not spent doing stuff with my family.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. planning stressed me out. It was one more thing I felt I "had" to do to be successful at weight loss.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. made me feel guilty going out to eat. On a night we were busy I'd feel really guilty about eating out because I was wasting the food I'd already prepped for the day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If these things make you hate meal prepping too, here's what to do instead:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Cook extra. Make supper, cook extra so you can eat leftovers the next day. I always make more than we can eat and just pack it for lunch the next day.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Make foods ahead of time that can be mixed and matched. For example, a crockpot of chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, hamburgers, baby red potatoes, rice, etc. Add a protein and starchy carb together and you've got a meal.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3.Make simple nutritious meals. Cooking should take less than 30 minutes during the week. Keep proteins, veggies, fruits, and starchy carbs on hand, just put a few together and you've got a meal!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

4 tips to making working fun:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Make the ultimate workout playlist: I love me some pumping music when I workout. Finding new songs and getting them in a playlist motivates me to get moving!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Treat yourself to some new workout clothes: when you look good you feel good, that's my motto. New workout clothes just make me want to move more. Period.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Try something new: take a new class at a local gym, switch up your routine, go to a new walking location, have someone program a workout for you. Just try something different. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Get an accountability partner: having someone to workout with or help keep you accountable helps us stick with our plans. We don't want to let other people down. Find someone to help motivate you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Comment below with the number that motivates you the most. Let me know what you would add to the list! What makes working out fun for you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Know how many years I've been dieting in some form?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
15+ and if you follow me, I'm guessing you're probably in a similar boat.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've weighed around the same weight +/- 20 pounds since high school, other than being pregnant, of course, but that's a story for another time.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wasn't happy at my lowest weight and I wasn't happy at my heaviest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I felt guilt and shame about food choices, not sticking with plans, binging on foods that I deemed "bad", restricting and not eating for days, feeling like a failure constantly, and hating my body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Diet culture is a $71 billion industry. They make us feel like we shouldn't be happy unless we do X diet, take Y product, and cut Z out of our diets. All so they CAN. MAKE. MONEY. making us feel bad about our bodies.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I quit dieting and started eating and moving for health and not punishment, I can maintain my weight within 10 pounds, but the biggest change was MENTALLY.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'm happy! Truly happy for the first time in 15+ years. I started to be happy with my body and grateful for everything my body has accomplished. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Diet culture is all about making us feel bad for the unique body we're in. They want us cookie cutter sizes and stick thin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you're ready to make a change and give up the guilt and shame comment "diet culture dropout" and start loving yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I hate using the word "cheat" because it presumes you did something bad when you didn't.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You simply restricted for too long and then binged because you didn't allow yourself something when you wanted it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here's how to help yourself get back on track after a binge turns into a week-long binge:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Ask yourself why it happened? Was it stress at work, home, a stressful situation? You don't have to have emotions towards anything, just simply state your binge happened because of XYZ.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. LEARN from your latest binge. If it was a person, just understand that person might be a trigger. If it was a place or situation, try to limit yourself from that type of situation or place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Understand losing weight is as much physical as mental. It's all about how you handle the next situation. It's the old adage "Fall down 9 times, get up 10." It's true. Don't fall and never get back up. Fall and get back up and learn from the fall.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more you get up and try again, the less you'll binge! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Save this post for later to help remind yourself it isn't a "CHEAT", it happened, learned from it, and move forward. Get back up and keep succeeding!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
