Does your lipstick contain lead? I know mine doesn’t! I discovered a company called in March and as someone with a skin condition I fell in love instantly!

and I choose happy today and for as many hours each day as possible. You see, happiness increases feel good chemicals like endorphins and oxytocin that help our body and mind feel good. So even though it’s gloomy/stormy today, and in our current climate (yes, I’m talking about the increased stress levels with restrictions and health concerns), I am choosing to restructure my thoughts to be thoughts of gratitude. It’s important to note this does not mean you should downplay your reality or your negative thoughts. It means embracing them and finding a way to be happy or have joy even if things are not perfect.
1) even though it’s raining, we haven’t had rain in a while and it helps the soil to retain moisture and gives hydration to wildlife.
2) I know choosing gratitude for the little things brings a happier day so I’m grateful or my mug’s message as well as the coffee inside which will warm and comfort me.

After a 42 hour fast I had some scrambled eggs and spaghetti squash hash browns! It was delish!
I love the space that a longer fast gives me to really let my body rest and digest or rest and heal once the food has all moved out. I’ve been doing this an average of every other week since July. It feels great and I always feel happy when I get that first meal!
There is no one right way to do fasting. Some people do intermittent fasting and eat in a certain time frame, some do alternate day fasting (essentially a 36 hour fast followed by an 8-10 hour eating window, then repeats), some do one longer fast a week, some a 5 day fast per month. I regularly eat in a time restricted window averaging 3-5 hours, I give myself a day or 2 where I eat in an 8-10 hour window and then throw in a longer fast every other week. There is no one right way! Find what works for YOU!

We are officially in fall! What’s your favorite food and activity to partake in when the weather cools and the dark settles earlier. I gravitate to comfort foods and activities like squash (making some spaghetti squash hash browns as I type) and campfires.

The sweet sound of coffee beans grinding and the smell of freshly roasted and ground coffee does wonders for my mood. Not only do I get great joy in enjoying the fresh brewed cup, but in the process of getting it ready.
It’s a little late I. The day for caffeine, but with the cooler temps I’ve been craving the comfort of a so I’ve started doing decaf in the afternoon. Because I’ve always been told that coffee dehydrates you, I did some searching on pubmed and found some research I thought you’d like to know! If you are a habituated (drink caffeine on the regular) coffee drinker it doesn’t impact hydration status unless you are ingesting over 500 mg. A plus is that Decaf only has about 3mg of caffeine. I now do t feel as much pressure to drink coffee in 1:1 ratio with water for hydration. Happy Friday, friends!
