More women are diagnosed with Osteoporosis than men.📌And in the US, women experience three-quarters of all hip fractures annually (source: CDC 2016). 📌Osteoporosis is a disease that weakens bones and increases fracture risk. 📌Fractures are often a result of falling due to poor balance or strength.
Many think that Osteoporosis starts at 50. 📌However gradual bone loss may start earlier depending on various factors like diet and lifestyle. 📌The good news is for those that adopt the attitude ~ of learning how to maintain or improve bone health ~ there are specific information on nutrition, type of exercise, meds Etc for osteoporosis and arthritis (joint inflammation).📌

Osteoporosis, is a silent disease. It is often thought that this is a disease of older people but gradual decline in bone density depends on many factors. The process of bone loss can start earlier than 40-50 yrs old! ❗️
For those that are diagnosed with Osteoporosis, it is important to choose activities that do not increase the risk of fractures or fall.‼️
There are no quick fixes to building bones and it requires combination of proper nutrition, activity, in some cases meds etc to prevent further bone loss as part of aging.
✅But the good news is doing regular “Yoga for Osteoporosis” program can prevent bone loss and improve long-term bone health. This program involves strength and balance building not just flexibility focused sequences.
If you are interested to learn more about how to improve balance (prevent falls), improve strength and flexibility and prevent loss of height, please contact me. In this COVID environment, I’m doing individualized and private class via 🖱📱Zoom 💻⌨️📞
✅The photo in this post was from “Yoga for Better Bones” last year 2019. The workshop also covered Arthritis as part of aging. I’d love to hear from you ~ ❗️Maybe we can do this workshop again online 🖥🎬🤳
