Balboa Nephrology is proud to be part of something special happening in Chula Vista.

Our new building on Broadway was selected for the Envision Broadway mural project, and watching this come to life has been incredible. Artist Nolan Lee is transforming the space into something vibrant, meaningful, and rooted in community.

One of the highlights was the community paint day, where people had the chance to be part of the process — not just observe it.

We’re grateful to Nolan Lee, Envision Broadway, IPS South Bay, and the City of Chula Vista for bringing this project together and helping create something that reflects the energy and spirit of the neighborhood.

A visit with an Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) can give you more time to:

• ask questions
• talk through your medications
• understand your next steps
• feel more confident about your care plan

Kidney care can feel overwhelming. You should never feel rushed or confused when it comes to your health. That’s one reason your doctor may want you to see another trusted provider on the team.

Seeing a Nurse Practitioner or APP? You’re still in the right place.

If your Balboa Nephrology visit is scheduled with a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP), it does not mean you’re being passed off or receiving less care.

It means you have another trained member of your kidney care team helping you stay on track.

They work closely with your kidney doctor, review your chart, help explain your care plan, and make sure your questions get answered.

More support. More follow-up. Same goal: helping you feel cared for.

Why would I see an Nurse Practioner (NP) or Advanced Practice Provider (APP) instead of my doctor?

Because kidney care often needs close follow-up.

An NP or APP can help:

• go over test results in simple language
• review medications
• talk through blood pressure or swelling concerns
• help you know what to watch for between visits

They are part of your care team and work side by side with your kidney doctor.

You’re not being sent somewhere else. You’re getting added support.
