I never thought I'd be an "inspiring mother" for the reason this news story was done. Although I'll be forever grateful to Monica Dean for sharing our story, it's a story no mother, father, or sister wants to be part of. Losing Garrett has forever changed our family. There is a missing piece to our puzzle. I thank God every day for the 22 years we had Garrett, but it wasn't enough. I want to hear his laugh, feel his incredible hug, and listen to the newest music he's fired up about. PLEASE register and come walk with us on May 6th, and help us provide scholarships for the other beautiful souls out there in need of life saving treatment, and spare a family of the life changing loss that we've experienced. We Need You!
We currently have a young man who is finally ready to reach out for the support and tools he needs for long-term recovery but he is out of resources! Our scholarship fund is also depleted due to the high need in our communities. Will you help him by donating to our scholarship fund? We would like to raise enough to cover 90 days because this has been demonstrated to give a person a better chance at long-term recovery.
We took a chance that we could gather resources for him because of his extreme motivation and willingness to change. He is at Genesis now - pouring time and engagement in all we have to offer. He is determined to make this a life changing experience for a future free of drugs and alcohol - and he is working hard to save his family relationships and eventually pour back into helping others.
As with many in addiction, he comes with significant past traumatic events but the good news is he is working with therapists to heal. He is building a stronger relationship with God and others in recovery and ready to be free of the weight of the past!

GENESIS RECOVERY & RHOMBUS COUNSELING are looking for 5 People to Sponsor for a Certificate Program in Addiction Counseling and Internship Experience!
This position would include a paid internship with participants working 32 hours a week ($15 an hour), completing a certificate program in peer support specialist (a $1000 value), and completing 6 courses from City Vision University to receive a Certificate in Addiction Counseling ($4,500 value). The certificate from City Vision could also be used for furthering your education toward an AA or BA in Addiction Counseling at a discounted rate of $500 per course. The BA degree at City Vision would qualify you to continue
a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Rhombus University at a discounted rate. This internship experience would give the participant training and experience with both telehealth addiction treatment and residential drug and alcohol treatment… see flyer above for full details.

Hi all, I have a story for you to see if any of you are able to help support with donations. Remember donations likely count as tax deductions as we come close to the end of the year. I have a gentleman with three children who has been trying to gain long-term recovery for years. He has mental health difficulties that complicate his addiction and some of the programs he has tried to attend do not allow medication. He is a believer and wants to integrate his faith into treatment and finally gain freedom from addiction long-term as well as stability with his mental health. He "needs something that will change his life." Genesis Recovery uniquely addresses addiction and mental illness as well as integrates a biblical foundation, the 12-steps, therapy for trauma, coping skills, leadership skills with purpose and meaning, and community. He has family support overall; unfortunately, no family has financial resources. Please consider donating today.
