Life can sometimes feel like a game, but for young adults exiting foster care, it's often played on hard mode. 🎲

To help out these young adults, COMPASS Programs recently transformed our Drop-In Center into a real-life board game where participants tackled adulting tasks in a fun, supportive environment! ✨

From scoring an apartment lease to budgeting food and insurance, these young adults had the chance to navigate life's challenges while honing essential skills to prepare for their futures. 🌟

Around 20,000 young adults who age out of foster care every year, often without a job, secure housing, or support. Our mission at COMPASS Programs is to help fill those gaps and set young adults up for success.

Recently, our Permanent Supportive Housing program hosted a giveaway - providing essentials like clothing, baby supplies, and more. Events like this ensure that they have the resources they need, without eating away at their tight budgets.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and for supporting these amazing individuals on their journey to independence!

With Spring quickly approaching, we are looking forward to spending time outside in the beautiful COMPASS courtyard!🌞

Just a few months ago, the area outside of the COMPASS Point Drop-In Center was transformed by our friends at Gilead Sciences to make this space functional and inviting. The Gilead team spent the day assembling outdoor furniture, constructing and painting planter boxes, and putting everything into place!🛠️

We are so grateful for the support of Gilead and are so excited to see all the events COMPASS will host in this beautiful space!✨

The resources and support available to young adults aging out of foster care have helped so many of our participants achieve their academic goals by providing specialized services such as counseling, tutoring, and financial assistance. 🎓

They even brought some lunchboxes and goodies as a special treat for our COMPASS youth!💙

After bouncing around the system most of her life, Caroline found herself on the streets with very little support. When her county social worker connected her with COMPASS, everything changed.💙

A big shoutout to Community Financial Resources for their incredible support! 🙌

We are immensely grateful to CFR for providing the young adults at COMPASS Programs with Focus Cards. These pre-paid debit cards are a game-changer for our youth as they embark on their financial journey. With no minimum balance, no overdraft fees, and no monthly fees, these cards make direct deposits more accessible than ever before. 💰

Plus, their savings account with just a $10 minimum allows our young adults to start building a solid financial future. 💪

Saving money has been a top challenge for our COMPASS graduates, but thanks to the Focus Card, they can now develop essential money management skills early on, helping to ease the transition to independence. 🏦

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the CFR staff for their dedication in explaining all the card's features and addressing our questions. Together, we are empowering young adults to take control of their finances and pave the way for a brighter future. 🌟
