Life looks so different now than it did a year ago...

For starters, I officially started my own practice ( 😊) last year and I'm happy to say that this is now my full-time job πŸ₯² I treat EDS/hypermobile patients and I provide a manual therapy called Fascial
Counterstrain (FCS).

David and I have made some huge strides with our health, and we are getting better every day 😊 Fascial Counterstrain has played a huge role in our healing.

I've also started doing some dabbling in digital marketing, and I'm working on developing some EDS/ pain management courses. I've also been able to earn some passive income this way, which has been a huge gamechanger for me. I wish I would have known about passive income with digital marketing sooner... it would have helped me start my practice/pay down debt/have time freedom a lot sooner! Live and learn πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

For anyone interested in the passive income info, check out the link in my bio πŸ˜„

It's the last day of , and while this should be a celebration, it's a sad week for LGBTQIA+ folks as our supreme court has effectively legalized discrimination against us.

It is honestly quite depressing, since we already face discrimination in so many ways.

I believe that we all have some amount of power, whether in our social spheres, our professions, or our communities.

Because should be something we celebrate all year, and because we need to help lift each other up in the hard times, I'm happy to share that I will be offering reduced rates/sliding scale prices for patients who are LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC.

Everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, and while this is a drop in the bucket with regard to addressing the equity gaps in many of the systemic injustices in our country, I believe every little bit counts.

It's ! My "why" was summed up in the article by last year.

I became a PA to help others.
πŸ‘©πŸ½β€βš•οΈ
I chose pain management because I know what it's like to hurt so bad that you want to die.
πŸ€•
I became a patient advocate because of the medical gaslighting and mistreatment that myself and many others received in our times of need.
πŸ”Š
I am an educator so I can help show our future PAs how to give compassionate care and why that's important.
πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ«
I am tired, overwhelmed, and saddened at the state of the world, so I've been unplugged for the past few weeks. I decided to post this anyway, because I know that everyone else on their PA journey or in PA practice is probably feeling the same.

I see you. You matter.

What you do every day for your patients, students, community, and our society matters. I am beyond proud of you, and I'm proud to be part of a professional full of caring, resilient, and downright amazing humans πŸ’œ

Switching to a home office without setting up your home office correctly can lead to new aches and pains from poor posture.Β

I'm so grateful to have been included in this collage of amazing 🀩

Thank you for supporting us, Mypabox!

Backstory on this post: a recently published journal article consisted of male resident doctors making fake accounts to stalk their co-residents on social media and find out what amount of their content was "unprofessional." They considered things like holding alcohol, apparent intoxication, or WEARING A BIKINI to be unprofessional πŸ™„

This shows that sexism in medicine is still alive and well. If female doctors are treated this way, imagine how female patients get treated πŸ€”

Fortunately, the article was retracted, and this article has sparked a wave of support for women in medicine and an important discussion about sexism in the workplace.
