Riggs Community Health Center is proud to offer the services of our certified navigator to Riggs patients. Our healthcare navigator helps patients understand and access healthcare services by guiding them through appointments, insurance, treatment options, and community resources. Their role is to reduce confusion, remove barriers to care, and help people get the support they need more easily.
Governor Mike Braun has dedicated Monday May 11 2026 as Navigator Day.
Hoosiers deserve access to healthcare they can actually understand and use — and that’s exactly why Indiana Navigators are so important.
Indiana Navigators help individuals and families enroll in health coverage through HIP, Medicaid, CHIP, and the Health Insurance Marketplace — at no cost and with no hidden agenda. They are not insurance salespeople. They are trained professionals who provide free, unbiased help to people trying to navigate a complicated healthcare system.
Every day, Navigators help:
• working families keep coverage during job changes
• seniors and people with disabilities understand eligibility notices
• rural residents access enrollment support
• families avoid losing healthcare because of paperwork or technical issues
• uninsured Hoosiers find affordable coverage before a medical crisis happens
As Indiana continues to face healthcare access challenges, Navigators are often the frontline connection between people and the care they need. Their work reduces confusion, prevents coverage gaps, lowers medical debt, and helps build healthier communities across our state.
For many Hoosiers, a Navigator is the difference between going without healthcare and getting the coverage that protects their family.
Indiana Navigators are not just helpful — they are vital.
