We have been doing a lot of digging in class on relapse and relapse prevention

As we were talking it helps put things into perspective relapse doesn't begin with a drink a Needle or a pill
It begins with a decision to stop being honest

Our conversations begin to get shorter
Justification gets louder
Responsibility gets pushed on to others

We don't just wake up one day and say I'm going to throw it all away it usually starts by I've got this

That moment we start to believe we no longer need accountability is when it quietly starts forming

Addiction thrives in secrecy
Pride in isolation
But true freedom thrives in ownership

Sobriety without Jesus becomes self effort
Accountability without Jesus becomes control
But when Jesus is at the center accountability becomes protection it becomes healing and freedom

When we become distant from accountability it's the first step away from Christ

Accountability is the keys to your freedom not your prison

Anger is one of the most underrated and underestimated threats when it comes to recovery

Most people think that relapse happens suddenly but scripture and experience both tell us that it happens progressively

Anger is most of the time the first step backwards not the last

Anger in my experience is powerful because it feels justified,it feels strong, it's protective
When it's not dealt with under the authority of Scripture it becomes permission to isolate to resent to numb and eventually turn to old habits and old behaviors

So if not checked at the door it becomes a doorway back to bo***ge

Big thank to Ben and first Baptist Opelika and several different people in making sure that the men of His Place and the women of Hosanna Home were taken care of this Christmas they had a wonderful dinner and Movie thank you guys who help make this possible
