Bloating can be bothersome, but here are some things that may help.

Chewing food thoroughly allows enzymes to begin to break down food in your mouth. Avoiding grazing all day allows your digestive tract to rest and digest a previous meal.
Bloating often disappears overnight while you sleep, because your body has hours to fully digest the previous day's food.

Digestive bitters are herbal preparations designed to stimulate the body's digestive system by activating bitter taste receptors on the tongue and throughout the digestive tract. They may alleviate bloating.

Persistent and constant bloating may be signs that you have an underlying issue.

Yesterday’s salad with plenty of protein and healthy fats! 🥑 Don’t be afraid of dietary fat, like the avocado in this salad.

Healthy fats support brain health and help reduce inflammation. They are also essential for the absorption of vitamins A, D, E, and K, which are fat-soluble.

Fat also keeps you full longer, decreasing cravings. However, it is calorie dense, so moderation is key.

Feed your skin.

Nourishing yourself with the nutrients that your skin needs helps reduce inflammation, strengthens your skin’s barrier, and boosts collagen.

Food is a foundation for skin repair, elasticity, and protection from oxidative stress.

A balanced gut helps with digestive issues and bloating, but also helps keep your skin healthy! A balanced gut lowers inflammation in the body.

There is also a gut-skin axis so what affects the gut, affects your skin.

February’s produce includes immunity-boosting citrus fruits such as mandarin oranges, grapefruit, lemon, and blood oranges, juicy kiwi, cruciferous vegetables like brussels sprouts and cauliflower, and root veggies like leeks and rutabagas.

You can use rutabaga like potatoes or carrots. It is great for roasting, mashing, and adding to stews.

🔹Intense cravings – especially for sugar
🔸New or worsening skin issues: increased acne, eczema, rosacea
🔹Frequent colds
🔸Worsening depression or anxiety

December is so many things at once. There are so many things to do, things to attend, and to do lists to check off. 🎄🎅🏻🕎🎁

But this can take a toll on the nervous system.

December can also be a time to slow down whenever you can, to nourish your body, to have an early night when possible — to support your body, mood, and spirit.

Hi! Here is a video where I talk about mindful eating!

Watch on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/9o9t5aS_aM8?si=b0dXsbcKoF_aVnLA

Mindful eating is not a diet. Eating mindfully promotes better digestion, keeping you full with less food, and helps you tune into your innate hunger and fullness cues.

This was originally recorded as part of my podcast .

I’m in the process of making a YouTube channel for True Harmony Nutrition where I will provide more advice like this so stay tuned!
