While a lot of healing can happen in the clinic on the table, a lot of it happens at home 🏡 I don’t want my patients to rest on their laurels in between sessions — I want them to be making choices to help with their healing.

I want to share some of my go-to at home protocols for patients, starting with a super common one — shoulder pain!

💧 Add electrolytes + collagen: collagen supports the structural integrity of your tendons and ligaments, while electrolytes ensures those tissues stay hydrated and elastic rather than brittle

🔥 Ditch the ice for warmth: we want blood flow, not stagnation. Apply gentle heat to encourage circulation to the joint.

💪 Move Within the ‘Pain-Free’ Range: resting often leads to more stiffness. Instead, perform small movements in a range that feels safe and that doesn’t cause more pain

🔥 While ice packs seem like a quick fix when it comes to acute back pain, heat will always prevail. Whether it’s a steamy shower or heating pad, TCM favors heat for non-injury based pain.

🌿 Icy-Hot is a pharmacy staple — but I’ll do you one better. Essential oils and herbs help pe*****te into the muscle layers for deep healing. Menthol based products only scratch the surface.

📍 This one is a trick question...you can do both! Chiropractic care and acupuncture work hand-in-hand when it comes to pain management.

🙆‍♀️ What you do after a workout matters. Waiting to foam roller tomorrow might seem like a good idea, but stretching and winding down your muscles before you feel sore can prevent injury and enhance recovery.

Today we’re talking my doTERRA favorites — starting with Deep Blue and Frankincense.

🧊 I use Deep Blue more than any other product on my patients. It’s amazing for a post-workout muscle cool-down or a post-sitting-at-a-desk relief session.

⭐️ I use Frankincense for... well, everything. From inflammation to beauty, it’s called ‘King of Oils’ for a reason.
