Educators, this one is for you. 🍎

You spend more waking hours with students than almost anyone in their lives. You are uniquely positioned to notice when something has shifted — before parents do, and sometimes before the teen realizes it themselves.

Here are 7 behavioral signs a student may be struggling with mental health 👉

1️⃣ Sudden drop in grades or effort
2️⃣ Withdrawing from friends and activities
3️⃣ Increased irritability or outbursts
4️⃣ Frequent absences or nurse visits
5️⃣ Trouble concentrating or "checked out"
6️⃣ Changes in appearance or hygiene
7️⃣ Comments about hopelessness or worthlessness

You don't need a diagnosis to take action.

Every parent wonders at some point: is this normal teenage stress, or is something more serious going on? 💙

The truth is — that line can be hard to see, especially when you're in the middle of it.
Swipe through to learn the key differences between typical teen stress and signs that your child may need professional support 👉

Normal stress looks like: → Nervousness before a big test → A bad week after a friendship conflict → Feeling tired during busy seasons

When to pay closer attention: → Symptoms lasting more than 2 weeks → Withdrawal from family, friends, and things they loved → Sleep or appetite changes that don't bounce back → Expressions of hopelessness or worthlessness → Talk of self-harm or not wanting to be here

You know your child. If something feels different — it probably is. You don't need to wait until it gets worse to reach out.

We're one day late (due to human error) so now we have the whole weekend to celebrate! Happy Birthday to our very own Marla!

Your heart of gold shows in everything you do. The way you care so deeply about your work, the team, and every single person around you never goes unnoticed. You bring compassion into the room, strength when things feel heavy, and light when we need it most.

It’s rare to find someone who works with such dedication and loves with such sincerity. We feel incredibly grateful to walk alongside you not just professionally, but personally.

May this year give back to you even a fraction of the kindness, joy, and care you pour into the world every day. You deserve it all.

Today on World Autism Day, we honor every autistic teen — and we want providers, educators, and parents to know: autistic adolescents face significantly higher rates of anxiety and depression, and their mental health needs are too often missed or misdiagnosed. Neurodiversity-affirming care means meeting each young person exactly where they are, respecting their unique experience, and never trying to "fix" who they are. At Family Recovery Centers, we see every teen as a whole person.

While February is the second month in our Gregorian calendar today, it was originally the very last month added to the Roman calendar (c. 713 BC)!

Originally, the calendar was 10 months because winter was considered a dormant, month-less period. January and February were added by the Roman king Numa Pompilius to better align the calendar with the lunar year. Eventually (c. 450 BC), February was moved to its place as the second month.
