✨PATIENT SPOTLIGHT ✨ Seeing progress like this reminds me why I love what I do! Incredibly proud of Cori and all that she has accomplished both inside and out of the gym 💪🏻
Introducing and her “why”:
I think I have always had a burning desire inside of me to be a part of something bigger than myself. When I found the doors of Crossfit my life changed forever. I need something to lean into, to take me away from the hustle and bustle of the day to day grind of life. It’s hard out there with all the hats we need to hold and maintain. The space I get when I am there is my “why” . It’s that time that takes me away from whatever else I have going on to really just focus on myself. It’s what helps me feel better 10/10 times even when I don’t want to show up. It’s what taught me that I can do anything that I want to.
I have been in multiple competitions and have set multiple PRs along the way in my journey. Some are bigger than others, but the real growth and accomplishment is the mental ones. The strength and the fortitude to keep going when times get hard. That is what the barbell gave me, the grit I need to pick it back up instead of circling around it when I really don’t want to and everything feels hard.
Meeting Amanda gave me a plan, gave me an action to take, gave me the something to do I needed to help put myself back together. I had 2 unforeseen knee injuries back to back and finding her during my second one gave me the passion to work again. She helped teach me how to move appropriately and safely for where I was at any given week. She hands on reviewed my movement patterns and pointed out the flaws (which no one had ever previously done for me). She helped give me confidence when I was struggling, and held my hand when I was scared to do some of the things you asked of me. Never making me feel silly or self conscious through the laughs and the tears.
