Glad to be featured in this article!

This was such a meaningful conversation on supplements and a reminder that more isn’t always better. It’s easy to follow trends, but real health still comes back to the basics: what we eat, how we live, and how we take care of our body day to day.

Grateful to Jim Hamel for the thoughtful interview and for creating space to share this message.

If you’re currently taking supplements (or thinking about it), this is worth a read.

What if the way we’ve been doing healthcare… isn’t the only way? 🤔🌿

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately. So many of us were never taught the basics: how to cook simple meals, how to nourish our bodies, how daily habits shape our health over time.

Instead, we wait until something feels off… then look for a quick fix.

But what if we flipped that?

This is where lifestyle + culinary medicine comes in.

It’s not about being perfect or doing everything “right.” It’s about learning small, practical skills you can actually use, choosing whole foods more often, cooking a bit more at home, slowing down enough to enjoy a meal.

Over time, those simple shifts add up.

And health starts to feel a little more within your control. 💛

¿Y si la forma en que hemos estado abordando la salud… no es la única? 🤔🌿

🍳 Ever wondered why cooking at home is such a big part of health?

From a culinary medicine perspective, it’s not just about recipes—it’s about building everyday habits that support long-term wellbeing. 🥗✨

When we start preparing more whole, minimally processed meals at home, we naturally increase our intake of fiber, fruits, and vegetables while reducing ultra-processed foods. Over time, these shifts can support better digestion, more stable energy, and improved metabolic health.

The goal isn’t perfection or complicated cooking. It’s about simple, consistent choices in the kitchen that make healthy eating more doable in real life.

Culinary medicine helps bridge the gap between knowing what’s healthy and actually doing it, one meal at a time. 🥕🫶

If this inspires you, try cooking just one more home meal this week and notice how your body feels.

Do you really need to buy everything organic? 👀🌱

Not quite and here’s a smarter way to shop:

It’s easy to feel like eating healthy means spending more, but the truth is, you can be intentional without overdoing it.

Knowing where to spend and where to save makes a big difference, especially when you’re grocery shopping regularly 💡

• You don’t have to go all-in on organic to eat healthy
• Be strategic instead—know what matters most
• Check the “Dirty Dozen” (produce to prioritize organic) 🍓
• Look at the “Clean 15” (lower pesticide options) 🥑
• This helps you make better choices without overspending 💸
• Buying some non-organic items can actually save you money
• It’s all about balance—not perfection 🙌🏼

When you shop this way, you’re still being mindful of what goes into your body and your budget. It’s a practical approach that makes healthy eating more sustainable long-term 💛

I’ve also shared these lists on my website so you can easily refer to them anytime!

💬 Save this for your next grocery run & send it to someone who’s trying to eat healthier without breaking the bank!

Some days, stress doesn’t come from one big thing… it’s the small things adding up.

And when that happens, our default is to push through, do more, or distract ourselves. But more isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes, it’s about choosing a different response.

This Stress Awareness Month, here’s your gentle reminder that small shifts can make a big difference. You don’t need a full reset or a perfect routine. Just a few mindful choices throughout your day can help your body feel a little safer, a little calmer.

Instead of reaching for another scroll or cup of coffee, try pausing. Step outside. Nourish your body. Write things down. Give yourself space to breathe.

It may feel simple, but these small moments add up.

You’re allowed to slow down. You’re allowed to take care of yourself in the middle of everything.

Save this for the days when things feel a bit too much 🤍

Sometimes life hits like an unexpected wave 🌊—strong, messy, and enough to knock you off balance.

You didn’t plan for it, you didn’t see it coming, and for a moment, you’re just trying to catch your breath.

But here’s the thing: falling isn’t the end of your story. It’s part of the ride.

What matters most is what you do next.

Do you stay in the water, letting doubt pull you under? Or do you rise, reset, and paddle back out, stronger, wiser, and more determined?

Growth isn’t about never falling.

It’s about choosing to get back up, every single time.

Even when it’s hard.
Even when you’re tired.
Because each time you do, you build resilience, courage, and belief in yourself.

So if you’ve been knocked down lately, take a moment… then get back on your board.

Your next wave might be your best one yet ✨

Want richer flavor without relying on store-bought stock? Here’s a simple kitchen upgrade you can start today 👀✨

• You can always use water—it’s simple, accessible, and still gets the job done 💧
• If you want to level up the flavor, start saving your veggie scraps, bones, and herbs 🥕🍗🌿
• Think onion peels, carrot ends, celery tops—things we usually throw away
• Simmer them into your own homemade stock = deeper flavor + added nutrients
• You’re not just cooking—you’re maximizing what you already have 🙌🏼
• It helps reduce food waste in a very practical, doable way ♻️
• Plus, you avoid unnecessary additives often found in packaged stock
• It’s a small shift, but it makes your meals feel more intentional and nourishing 💛

You don’t have to be perfect—start with what you have. Even doing this once or twice a week already makes a difference 🌍

Try it in your next dish and notice how much richer it tastes!

💬 Save this for later & share it with someone who loves simple, healthy cooking!

✨ I don’t know who needs to hear this, but you can meal prep without spending hours in the kitchen…

It’s called ingredient prepping—and it can truly save you during busy weeks.

Instead of cooking full meals in advance, you prep components that you can mix and match quickly. This keeps your meals fresh, flexible, and way less overwhelming.

From a nutrition standpoint, this approach also helps you stay consistent. You’re more likely to build balanced meals when healthy ingredients are already ready to go—reducing reliance on convenience or takeout options.

Here’s how to make it simple:
• 🥦 Wash and chop vegetables ahead of time
• 🍚 Cook a batch of grains (rice, quinoa, pasta)
• 🫘 Prepare plant proteins like beans, lentils, or tofu
• 🥑 Keep healthy fats ready (nuts, seeds, dressings)
• 🥗 Store everything separately so you can mix different meals daily

This way, you’re not stuck eating the same thing every day—and you’re saving both time and mental energy.

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s making healthy eating easier to stick to.

🌱 Feeling hungrier when you switch your diet? Here’s what’s really happening…

When transitioning to a more plant-forward way of eating, it’s completely normal to notice changes in hunger and fullness. If your body is used to calorie-dense foods like meat and cheese, shifting to whole, plant-based meals—naturally lower in energy density—can make it feel like you need to eat more.

That’s not a problem—it’s physiology.

Whole-food, plant-based diets are rich in fiber, water, and micronutrients, which means they take up more space in your stomach while providing steady nourishment. In the beginning, increasing food volume is often necessary to meet your energy needs and avoid feeling deprived.

Over time, your body adapts. Hunger and satiety hormones begin to regulate, your gut microbiome evolves, and fullness becomes more stable and intuitive—even without relying on heavy, processed foods.

Here are a few practical tips to support the transition:
• 🥗 Don’t fear volume — build meals around vegetables, whole grains, and legumes
• 🫘 Include protein-rich plant foods (beans, lentils, tofu) to stay satisfied longer
• 🥑 Add healthy fats (nuts, seeds, avocado) for extra calories and satiety
• 🍠 Eat regularly — don’t wait until you’re overly hungry
• 💧 Stay hydrated, as thirst can sometimes feel like hunger

The goal isn’t restriction—it’s nourishment, consistency, and learning to trust your body again.

Most “cheap” foods are costing you more than you think 👀

Refined, ultra-processed foods like cookies, white bread, and white pasta are often called “empty calories” for a reason. They’re stripped of fiber, vitamins, and minerals during processing, leaving you with calories that don’t do much for your body.

Because they lack nutrients and satiety, they’re easier to overeat—contributing not just to weight gain, but also to lower energy, blood sugar spikes, and overall poor wellbeing.

This doesn’t mean you need to be extreme or cut everything out overnight.

But being aware of what you’re eating and how it actually supports (or doesn’t support) your health can help you make better everyday choices.

Start simple: swap refined grains for whole foods more often, and notice how your body feels over time.
