ERIE COUNTY, NY – The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) is introducing a service where a “Vax Visit” team will go to any individual’s residence to administer COVID-19 vaccine.

Any Erie County resident can call the Erie County COVID-19 Information Line at (716) 858-2929 to schedule a Vax Visit. This program will use Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine as supply is available.

Staying Connected with Peers in Faith Community Nursing
The Westberg Institute Knowledge Sharing Platform
How do Faith Community Nurses stay connected after they are commissioned and begin their journey in health
ministry? One such avenue is by connecting via an online community such as the Westberg Institute Knowledge
Sharing Platform. Currently there are over 1,600 nurses and 90 groups focusing on different health topics
such as diabetes, heart disease, etc. The platform is a great way to be encouraged and supported. This is an excellent
resource that one can receive quick, virtual assistance for questions regarding topics of interest and locating experts in
health ministry and spiritual care. There are different groups that one can join such as “nursing educators” as well as

This eight-class course is conducted with live participation through a web-based system and will take place online on Fridays and Saturdays:

Registration ends on Friday, February 5, 2021

**Participants must be a registered nurse with an unencumbered, active license, and access to a computer with internet connection.

This Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course, developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing in consultation with the National League of Nursing (NLN) and the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center (ANACC), explores this specialty practice which combines professional nursing with health ministry.

Developed from the Judeo-Christian perspective, this 2019 curriculum is respectful of, and can be applied to, other faith traditions by exploring their differences and similarities.

In the context of a faith tradition, areas of discovery include:
• Practice History and Philosophy
• Ethical Issues
• Whole Person Health/Healing
• Loss, Suffering & Grief
