Ever watched a speech therapy session and thought, “Are they just playing?” Or maybe your child came home and said, “We just played today!”

While it might look like play on the surface, there’s a lot of purposeful learning happening behind the scenes. Play-based therapy is a proven approach—especially with younger children—to help them work on important communication skills like saying sounds clearly, building vocabulary, forming sentences, taking turns in conversation, and so much more.
