Ida M. Smith "Mama Ida"

Mama Ida is the oldest living member of the Burch Family and the Matriarch of the Burch Family. She hails from a large family of former slaves and slave owners.

Born February 12, 1924 and grew up during the time of the Great Depression in the America. Born February 12, 1924 and grew up during the time of the great depression in the America. Mama Ida worked in the public school system of Seminole county for 30+ years as a Dietitian and Nutritionist. She and her husband, the late Avery Smith, Sr. were married for 54 years at the time of his death in 2002. She has three children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you into someone or something God did not create you to be is a great and powerful accomplishment. It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought of as a fool, than to talk out of turn and remove all doubt of it. Be the best you that you can be with the help of God your creator. He created you to be great!!! Remember the inversion of "Silence" is "Listen."
