Courtney Truax, LMT Courtney Truax, LMT was established in 2010 in the heart of downtown Lake Oswego, Oregon. I entered the world of massage because I love to help others.

Specializing in Ashiatsu and Ashi-Thai massages, which are all done with the feet, you are guaranteed to have a deeply relaxing and therapeutic massage each time. Having worked for several Non-Profits in the Portland area, I realized that I wanted to be more hands on in helping others. In our busy, fast-paced, and demanding everyday lives, everyone needs time to allow their body to regain balance

in order to function at their best. The body has the ability to heal itself. With the power of touch that is facilitated through massage, I am able to help guide that healing ability. Massage has been one of the greatest gifts in balancing my life and I want to extend onto you the relaxing and healing capabilities that massage can offer.

Hiking, Snowshoeing, & Getting Outside Should Be Fun, Not Painful.

I love getting outside whenever I can, and especially to go on trails and hikes. The fresh air, the beautiful scenery, and the nice workout that you get from it all, is great for the mind, body, and soul.

Also, did I mention what a great workout it is? Take your normal hiking trails, add snow and snowshoes, and you just amplified your intensity level!

Being a weekend warrior is not a bad thing. However, you need to properly take care of yourself before, during, and after your adventure. Trust me when I tell you that your body will thank you.

Read my blog post for some tips that I have found to be helpful in making the most of your outdoor adventures and post adventure.

Fijian Massage: A Barefoot Technique

In 2017, I took an intro course in Fijian Massage. As an Ashiatsu Practitioner (a barefoot massage modality), I was curious and wanting to learn more about other styles of barefoot massages. This led me to looking into Fijian Massage. Years later I contacted the founder and asked to do a training certification to add this amazing modality to my offerings. Like Ashiatsu, it is a style of deep pressure massage that is done solely by the feet, rather than the hands, and has been westernized to achieve a more comfortable experience for both the client and therapist.

There are many benefits when we express gratitude. It is mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy to focus on what we are grateful for each and every day.

Golfer and The Muscles They Use.

Golfing is one of those great sport activities that can be done at any age. It is a great way to get outside, move the body, and stay active. Achilles Tendonitis: One of The Most Common Injuries for Active People

We use our feet and ankles in so many varieties of ways each and every day of our lives. We walk, run, jump, climb up and down stairs, and even while driving when using the gas and brake pedals. No wonder so many people complain of foot and ankle pain, soreness, stiffness, and swelling. We use and abuse our feet and ankles each and every day. Go! Get Outside And Play!

Probably like many of you, I remember going outside and playing a lot as a kid. Whether that was a friendly neighborhood game of tag or hide-in-go-seek, playing Mother-May-I or Simon Says, or having handstand contests in the front yard. (Ok, one of my older brothers was a gymnast and sibling competitions were always good fun.) Little did we know all the wonderful health benefits of being outdoors had on our life when we were kids. We tend to forget, that even as adults, we need outdoor time. Read my blog post about six health benefits of getting outside.

Snap, Crackle, Pop. Wait, Is That My Knees?

You squat down to sit on the floor, you get back up, and you hear crackling noises like a rice crispy. Or maybe you are walking up or down stairs and you hear a popping or clicking noise. Where is that noise coming from?

What you are hearing is your knees, or more specifically, your patella (knee cap), that is usually out of alignment. In most cases, correcting the imbalance of your muscles will help alleviate the snap, crackle, and popping noises you are hearing whenever you bend and flex at your knees.
