Tree Pose has been my constant. Different landscapes, same intention: find balance, stay grounded, and grow.

No matter where your feet land, you can create stability within yourself. Breathe deep, stand tall, and trust your roots.

If you’ve ever been to a yoga class, you have likely heard the word namaste at the end of class.

Namaste (pronounced nah-mah-stay) is literally translated as “I bow to you.”

The gesture of namaste represents the belief that there is a divine spark within each of us that is located in the heart center. The palms together in front of the heart or brow is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another.

It also has the underlying understanding that, beneath the outer layers that make us look different to one another, we are made of the same stuff. We are more alike than different.

Wellness isn’t always green juice and yoga mats. Sometimes it looks like cartwheels in the park, grass stains, spontaneous laughter, running barefoot, and sharing a picnic with people you love.

As we grow older, life can become heavy with responsibilities, schedules, and stress. But there’s something deeply healing about reconnecting with childlike joy. Moving freely, laughing loudly, being playful, and fully embracing the present moment.

Your nervous system needs moments of lightness. Your soul needs fun. Your body was made to move with freedom.

So here’s your reminder: do something that makes you feel alive this week. Dance, run, laugh, play, explore, and don’t be afraid to be a little silly.

Try this:
Gently open the throat chakra in a Shoulder Stand or Upward Facing Dog pose. Both poses create space in the neck, chest, and collarbones, where we often hold tension around communication.

In Shoulder Stand, the chin draws inward, bringing awareness to your voice.

In Upward Facing Dog, the chest and throat open, encouraging expression and ease.

Sit in Bound Angle Pose (also known as butterfly pose) with the bottom of your feet together and gently open through the hips. You can sit up with your spine elongated or recline lying on your back to promote relaxation.

The Root Chakra is your foundation. It’s connected to feelings of safety, stability, and being grounded.

When balanced: you feel secure, steady, and present.
When imbalanced: anxiety, restlessness, or feeling “ungrounded” can show up.

Try this:
Stand tall in Mountain Pose. Press firmly through your feet and imagine roots growing into the earth beneath you. Arms can be down by your sides or up over your head.

Stay for 5–10 breaths.

Chakras are energy centers within the body that influence how we feel: physically, emotionally, and mentally.

There are 7 main chakras, each aligned along the spine. When they’re balanced, we tend to feel grounded, open, confident, and connected. When they’re blocked, we may feel stuck, anxious, or off-center.

Think of them less as something mystical and more as a way to understand your inner balance.

In this series, we’ll explore each chakra and a simple yoga pose to help support it. No yoga experience needed.

This audio perfectly captures my daily thoughts while in the US Virgin Islands for Spring Break. 🏝💗

The most beautiful blue waters, soft sandy beaches and fresh ocean air.

My daily wellness routine consisted of walks on the beach, snorkling alongside sea turtles and watching sunsets.

Such a blessing to spend a week away in a tropical paradise.
